We deserve everything coming to us if it’s shawcross. He’s barely coached the U21s. Just as we deserve everything coming to us for allowing a Twitter rent-a-gob vibes man to come in and run the show. What exactly has SJW ever done to earn this kind of power? Knows the club 😉

Could it be Alex Morris?
Did well with the u21, his promotion to the first team coincided with our upturn in form?

Hard to see past Shawcross You are fucking winding us up, surely. He’s wank at u21 level. He's not winding anyone up.

You might as well say Pep Guardiola Why? Pep isn’t at a club who’ve recently had the EFL impose a strict business plan on them.

I must admit he's looked out of his depth for a while and I don't think the regression of players like Burger is a total coincidence. The players just don't look well coached and don't seem to know what they're supposed to be doing.
However, to sack this early after a poor but not totally disastrous start implies that we've had misgivings about him for a while. Which makes me think we should have been more ruthless and sacked him in May if we weren't convinced about him. Either that or something big has gone on behind the scenes and he's totally lost the dressing room. Either way, it's a total fuck up and makes us look a shambles.

Two points i would make;
- I am surprised but not disappointed. We played like it was a friendly on Saturday, and the fitness levels were shocking. I was never massively convinced that he had an absolute plan on how to develop, but we were dreadful on Saturday, and the start given the financial outlay hasn't been good enough.
- I am starting to get disconcerted on Walters level of influence at the club. He seems to have an extraordinary level of influence based on the fact he used to run 'aaard for us 10 years ago.
Onto the next i guess.

Because he’s the best manager in the league by a mile and his club are in a financial pickle. They may be but he'll get them into playoffs, not sure he'll do that here. He'd be mad come Stoke. I'd love it though. But then what at West Brom? Long term we are a much better option and he could do a TP and establish us in the Prem.

Madness to not have a replacement lined up. I liked the guy and I think he needed more time.

I think this is absolutely the right decision. Any appointment is a gamble and this one was not paying off. He’s proved he’s no better than Neil. In fact very similar. For once the club have been proactive which is what most clubs are in this situation. Can’t believe the moans, or even the surprise.

Saturday was very poor and a lot of that was down to the odd team selection.

To me looks like there’s been a major fallout behind the scenes, as it not just SS who’s gone it’s all his backroom team too!
So I think there’s been a major difference of opinion on which direction the club was/is heading and looks like JW and JC didn’t like something that SS and his team were taking so hence the decision this morning.
Plus the performance & team selection for Oxford on Saturday was perhaps the last straw for the top floor.
Never a dull moment being a Stoke fan!

Look no further than Walters in my opinion. I've not spoken to him yet, and won't be divulging any information. All I know is that I'm done. Dont blame you Fish, Im fucking disgusted.

You only have to look at many of the media articles since Walter's was appointed. Often it would be Walters who was making comments that you would expect to come from the manager. I would not be surprised if somewhere along the line Schmacher has felt undermined and tensions have been bubbling away for a while. Just saying to my son, DOF’s usually keep in the background so the coach/manager is not undermined. Walter’s has been hogging the limelight much of the time, can’t say I can think of many DOF’s who take that approach.

As for folk moaning about Walters. We have been crying out for someone to be steering the ship for a long time now. As soon as we get someone in, our great fans are up in arms!!!

They simply have to go for someone with experience and a bit of gravitas. Sick of these up and coming managers coming in with little experience and clearly not able to get a tune out of players on a regular basis. I haven’t got a clue who though but we can’t keep getting ‘Joe from League 1’ type characters. It just doesn’t seem to work at this clun!

Fair enough imo, we’ve played well once this season, plymouth are shite and that could of gone either way, west brom beat us at home and watford was a disgrace. We would of been maximum 14th with him here so whats the point Plymouth just beat Sunderland and any team can beat anyone in this league. We have just played 3 away games and won 2 of them with clean sheets. I presume Leeds will be sacking their manager soon after hit and miss results so far if you used Stoke as the standard of how a club operates. Then you look at Coventry who have been mediocre so far should they be sacking their manager? We are a shambles and there are around 15 to 16 clubs whose supporters think they should be in the top 6 and guess what most will be disappointed.

He's not winding anyone up. This club is a fucking shambles. We deserve everything we get if that’s the case. But it’s not a shambles. Lots of positives going on off the pitch and in the community. Very proud of the progress the club has made to reconnect over recent times. But this is a shocker and a big gamble. It makes us look overly trigger happy, but I couldn’t have seen us higher than mid-table based on the season so far (removing Boro).

Some absolute bed-wetters on here. This is a massive/shock decision, but they must have someone lined up. I will join the bedwetters if A) don't have anyone lined up B) the guy they bring in is a not fit to lace Schueys boots. Until then, we wait.
