No Irish managers available? Latest odds (updated, both Charlies coming in strong) Charlie Adam 3/1 Ryan Shawcross 15/1 Roberth Huth 20/1 Sol Campbell 25/1 Charlie Adams 30/1 John Bishop 40/1 Frank Carson 50/1 Daniel O Donnell 60/1 Mulligan and O'Hare (joint managers, never works) 80/1 Tony Cascarino threw his hat into the ring but a DNA test has ruled him out Who is Charlie Adams? Is that serious, people just betting on some guy with a similar name by accident?

Sensible decision. No sign of any progress on the pitch. Watford and Oxford were two appalling displays, with the way we just threw on subs without any obvious thought as to how they might change the game like an under 12s match. In every game half-time has seen the opposition change and get on top of us, consistently outreached. We could have lost every game this season and are almost bottom of the division on Xg in attack and defence. better to act now than let things fester. Spot on, very poor tactically and seemed unable to motivate for whatever reason. Happy that we have been pro-active for once but just hope we don’t make the huge mistake of appointing one of our ‘old boys’ because they will give it 100%. So would i but still doesn’t mean i’m the right one for the job. Was never convinced by Schu so in all honesty i’m pretty pleased he’s gone, that is, until i hear who the next clown, in a long list of clowns, is going to be!!

Unless this is one monumental managerial signing they have sorted then we have to be one of the worst run clubs in the football league, the jury is out on this one

Who's available? We've clearly got someone lined up you'd think? from the statement by Walters “We have a young, dynamic squad that is eager to develop and a clear vision of how to achieve success, and we hope to announce a new appointment shortly they have somebody lined up already Yeah definitely someone lined up and Walters was looking for an excuse to sack him.

For them to do this there has to be a top manager in a helicopter right now heading this way or a nuclear fallout behind the scenes and we're going to end up with some fool out of the old boys club,

Yeah, wanted his own man in by the looks of it. Let's hope it's not Charlie Adam.

The Oxford game would have been a huge red flag, make no mistake about that. New players in, a full 2 weeks on the training ground to work with those not on international duty and we were simply dire on Saturday. Insipid, sluggish, zero intensity, no real plan call it what you like it was a shocker....

I take the piss out of Walters and it does seem rash but also you can't argue.
We've been totally shit this year and Saturday was embarrassing.

To be fair, if this board is anything to go by, the general view on here changed week by week. I could never really make my mind up either - good one week and shocking the next. I can only assume he hasn't displayed the sort of consistency to give the board any confidence that he'll get it right long term.
The timing and managing of it though, is absolutely wank. Could have sacked him in the summer or 3 or 4 weeks ago. Somebody simply must have become available to make this happen so suddenly.
What a club. Walters has to get this one right or his head is right on the chopping block given how many bold decisions he's made in his short time here. Don't appoint an ex-player for fuck sake.

If it ends up being Shawcross or that type of appointment I'll be annoyed/frustrated as anyone else, but if they've seized an opportunity to get someone in they think can push us on I'm cool with that. Football's a cut throat industry, we've been overly loyal to managers, maybe now it's time to try knee jerk?

Let’s be honest though.
A total crap manager for us.
He bottled his way through it, being overpowered by the players, forgetting how he wants us to play.
3 good games and that was about it.
He’s no loss.
But the real issues remain.

It’s the correct decision, I’m sorry to say.
The key now is to get someone better. Recent history tells us this might be a problem.
