There'll definitely be a Walters angle. Charlie Adam must be a contender? That was my first thought 😂 Latest odds Charlie Adam 10/1 Ryan Shawcross 15/1 Roberth Huth 20/1 Matthew Etherington 25/1 Sol Campbell 30/1 Charlie Adams 50/1

Let's not blow this out of proportion, but I am saying that Graham Potter's payments are finally coming to an end... I thought he was going to get the England job once the payments stopped which is why Carsley has been interim manager for so long, but maybe I was mistaken about that...

Right decision. Bold. If they felt it wasnt working then fair play. How many times do we see things drag on until its too late. Never Schuey's biggest fan but thought he'd get till Christmas.

Wow! I didn't see that coming. Did anyone? It'll have cost a fair bit to pay off him and his backroom team. I hope Walters knows what he's doing.

odd
i thought he had us playing decent football at times. We're always shit after a break so the loss at the weekend was only to be expected. Not sure how i feel about this sacking and level of 'proactivity'.

Sensible decision. No sign of any progress on the pitch. Watford and Oxford were two appalling displays, with the way we just threw on subs without any obvious thought as to how they might change the game like an under 12s match. In every game half-time has seen the opposition change and get on top of us, consistently outreached. We could have lost every game this season and are almost bottom of the division on Xg in attack and defence. better to act now than let things fester.

It doesn't matter who we appoint, if we retain the team coach position instead of appointing a manager we will always have a problem of him being undermined in the background. If Walters wants to be manager he should take full responsibility not snipe from the sidelines.
In all the years I have supported Stoke (1958) I have never been so ashamed of them.

One thing is for sure and that is that whoever they get in will have to manage this squad without another big turnover of players next window and won’t have the excuse that they’re not his players. As mentioned they surely have someone lined up and it surely HAS to be someone experienced.

I’m as shocked and surprised by the clear out. There will no doubt be lots of rumours etc. I’m going to wait for an interview from the club being live on the radio and who the replacements will be before trying to comment/debate this one………Surprise is an under statement!

Take your pick: Laughing stock / basket case etc. etc.
As always, I’m sure after just five games there’s a lot more to this than performances this season.
Schumacher was never Walters’ man and that was always going to come to a head at some point, I suppose.

I liked him, but this is the correct decision. The timing is strange, but three goals in five league games, bizarre tactical decisions at home to WBA and two frankly diabolical showings at Watford and Oxford have shown that we simply aren’t making any progress. Let’s hope they’ve got someone better lined up.

We've convinced Potter to become a Potter. That might just have been a possibility as your owners could make an attractive offer financially. But I don't think he'd accept Jon Walters looking over his shoulder.
