5 from me, tried could have tweaked the formation but was let down by the players. Tried to change things but we're so obviously too lightweight, we were against Watford and Oxford got a bit more aggressive and we didn't stand up to them - again. Could have played Koumas up front when he took Cannon off, Ennis offered us nothing, players that should have shown composure must have left it at home. I wish there was another option at RB as Junior is a weakness for sure. Gouranga.

Can you give anything other than 0 to a man who thought Gooch starting at number 10 was in any way acceptable?

Can you give anything other than 0 to a man who thought Gooch starting at number 10 was in any way acceptable? If like the last away game in the league the result would ahve been the other way around he'd be scoring 9s and 10s, try to be objective, most were praising the starting 11 before kick off (barring Gooch) but with Moran having struggled since international duties he didn't exactly have a wealth of talent to choose from in midfield. Gouranga.

That was on par with that 2-0 defeat at Crewe in our relegation season
It was not acceptable

More worried about what the opposition is doing in terms of setup and formation that he is about what his own team are doing.
Good teams don’t care about the opposition formation. They go out and play to their strengths and win.
4 for me and only because the players also let him down today

We’ve really can’t be lining up with a RB playing AM just after a transfer window. Other than that the line-up looked fine.
But as we’ve seen with the previous managers, especially Neil, the game management was poor. The subs were just a random throw of the dice as he didn’t have a clue what to do.
The players let him down too. He’ll be under pressure to play the likes of Junho because of the potential to bring in a tidy sum so hopefully someone gives the lad’s head a wobble. He looks like a player who’s head has gone because he thought a move to a big CL club might have happened this summer.

I think we need to be patient. Again this season we've signed loads of players and some even haven't started yet. It will take time. Apart from Gooch people liked the team he put out. He loses points from me for putting Ennis on. 6

We were awful.
The manager deserves praise when we do well.
Today he deserves criticism.
2 out of 10.

Very poor.
Selection was bizarre, how anyone would pick Gooch there is beyond me.
No pattern in attacking play. They out 3 across the middle and other than a couple of attempts by Sidibe, we never figured it out. Bae and Burger and Junior all needing subbing. The long ball to their left back exposed Junior every time. I suspect teams will do this every week he is so out of his depth.
Substitutions were hopeless and further disrupted us. The idea we just put on more attacking players but don’t change shape or approach is like an under 12s manager.
I want us to do well but have no idea how we will. I would love to know how we thought we would win the game today. As soon as they scored, our heads went.
We could easily have no points from our first 5 games. We are fine when teams sit back but if they come at us we are clueless

Was game over once we went 1-0 down and that’s been the case since he’s been at the club and was also the same for his predecessor.
His tactic of throwing on all the attacking players on the bench and playing a 4-2-4 for the last 10/15 mins doesn’t work as there’s absolutely no structure to the team.

Its odd, before today's game by far the majority of stuff I read re Stoke (by Stoke fans) was how upbeat we were after years of struggle and filled with optimism for the season ahead.
Strange what 90 minutes can do.

2.
5 for the performance -1 for thinking Gooch is an AM, -1 for thinking Ennis is a footballer and -1 for not starting Phillips over Wilmot.
