Not just Champions League.
The average price of the unsold tickets on Saturday was apparently £120. No better time to be a Villa fan in 40 years and they can’t sell out, what are the owners playing at?

One of the reasons I only go local away games now. Even the price of championship away days is becoming more and more expensive.
Me and a mate were going to go one of the champions league games he a villa fan even against one of the smaller sides if we could get a ticket but we decided against it because of the prices.

I read an interesting take from a Villa fan who says that what they're trying to do is expand the match-going fan-base by sending ticket prices through the roof. In essence they price out 'x' numbers of fans from attending every game by charging an extortionate cost, thus allowing others then to also attend 1 x game. So instead of having 40k of the same fans attending all the home games, they get 100k split over the games, thus widening the match going fan base so their future is more secure. At the same time, they make far more £ per game.
I have no idea if it's true, but it's a wild tactic and one that could do the complete opposite.
Moronic.
