To be fair Dave you put a inappropriate posts on the Stoke ladies thread so you can’t go knocking others In appropriate to some, maybe, but you can't compare my post to his. Onlookers was quite clearly a joke. Your comment about the Stoke womens team maybe not so much. Neither post was particularly clever, but I wouldn’t go around taking the moral high ground if I were you.

I think that you're sailing close to the wind as far as social media 'Hate Speech' is concerned, claiming satirical licence is no excuse. But it is not is it. Sattire is a skill, demands inteligence, and has to be funny. The author obviouslsly lacks skill and inteligence, which results in a clueless unfunny statement. Anybody can write anything that is offensive, and call it satire, it doesn't mean it is. What are admin. doing, are they sitting on their hands? Disability comes under the equality hate crime acts, and there is no doubt, criminal offences have been carried out on this thread. Always helps to spell 'intelligence' correctly. Especially when you're questioning someone's intelligence.

tbh anyone standing infront of me who refused to sit down after me politely asking them to would be lying down within seconds 😉 Sitting, standing, now lying down sections I like to lean on stuff with my elbow a bit like teamsters but don't want to confuse things more by needing a section for that.

This whole thread is not just about what goes on at football matches it is about the society in which we live. Today we live in a selfish world where violence is rife and there is little respect for the older generation. The rules in a football ground are very simple but very difficult to police. There are seats in football grounds for a reason and that is safety and the order that it creates has respect for everybody. The comments I am reading on this thread are nothing less than disgraceful. It clearly shows the morons we have at matches. And it's exactly this that has been lampooned by several posters replying to the OP (myself included). If people are too stupid to realise what is an exaggerated response holding up a mirror to and satirising the questionable worldview of the initial post then I fear for the future of comedy in this country. That said, it amuses me greatly to imagine some of you watching a Frankie Boyle or Stewart Lee dvd and failing to comprehend the ironic detachment and antiphrasis that they and comics like them employ to highlight the ridiculousness of views that some (and it's and ever increasing amount) people hold. Do yourselves a favour and never open YouTube and enter the search term 'Jerry Sadowitz' 🤣 For interests sake,or maybe not, I involved myself with this thread earlier. I don't have any axe to grind with Onlooker and accept that he is a regular and respected poster. But thought I should take issue with his 'tongue in cheek' post. However it does seem that there is maybe a distinct gap between todays youth and the more mature (older) generation. I spent happy years on the Old Boothen-End in the sixties/seventies, when we had a team to be proud of. But there was never such scorn poured upon 'Older Supporters' as there seems to be currently. Anyway it'll all probably come back to haunt you, when you're not as full of s×××te as you're happy to be now🥱

Reluctantly, well seriously reluctantly I went to a Kylie concert and my wife insisted that the people in front us “sat down” stating “my husband can’t see”, honestly I could crawled up my own arse when she said it as loads of lads turned around and gave me daggers. I'm more interested in what a load of lads were doing at a Kylie concert. Probably counting their loose change in their trouser pockets.

We do seem to have quite an old unhealthy fan base compared to other teams supporters, espcially the southern sides when you look at the fans so more need to sit down Im afraid .A lot of prem sides also stand up a lot at home games too tbf. We also dont go with the flow and are mainly resistant to change, what my grandad and father did so will I.

I go a few away games and the less popular ones are okay for sitting. S Wednesday was a sell out so no chance of sitting, we moved to the front. . Swansea was okay because there were plenty of empty seats. Southampton was okay but had to move to find a seat. It's hit and miss. Most people are happy to sit down but it only takes one or two kids to decide to stand then everyone has to, bit like a domino effect ...but in reverse.

Had people behind me asking me to sit down today, sorry but you can fuck off.. who travels to an away game to just sit in silence, it’s tinpot and looks shite. Best part of it was they was all stood up at half time 😂😂 It’s football not tennis, stand up and support the lads Anyway what a day. UTMP 🔴⚪️ Bet you stand next to the away fans and give it the big one all game only to run back to your bus so it doesnt catch up with you aswell. Walley

If any old person or someone with mobility issues asks me to sit down I just abuse them verbally, then take them down into the concourse under the pretence of buying them a coffee, and just leather them senseless. They're then given an appointment for the statue for the next home game where I promise to finish the job i've just started Trust me, they don't ask again. *Just incase people have any issues with satire - this post is exactly that. No immobile or old people were hurt by this post or the author of this post... I think that you're sailing close to the wind as far as social media 'Hate Speech' is concerned, claiming satirical licence is no excuse. This is one the of the stupidest posts I’ve read on this forum, and that’s saying a lot.

Yeah, fuck the elderly and those with mobility issues! Cunts. not one of them was old, or disabled. I’m not traveling all the way to Plymouth to sit down. Do we have more fans that struggle to stand than other clubs 🤔 not many clubs sit down at away games Where were you in the stand. Last time I bought an away ticket from Stoke they asked me if I would want to sit down and advised me to get tickets in the front section if I did as people would stand up at the back. Seems good advice and could be widely accepted but I'm sorry if you buy a seat for a football match why should you stand up because the people in front of you want to stand anywhere in the stand. You bought a ticket knowing it was for a seat so therefore you should sit if asked to by the people behind you.

That’s a lot of words to demonstrate that you don’t understand satire. Also I recommend you don’t watch South Park which is one of the best satirical shows ever. Trust me, it’s not for you.

Sounds great. Elderly/frail/struggle to stand and have to sit on the front row wide open to the elements so Banksyboy can bounce round with his mates. should we have a whole away end sitting then? Sorry but that would be shite! So you were in the 5th - 10th row and expecting to be able to stand? And having people sitting ruins the atmosphere? Just out of interest do you think you are more important and a better fan than the people who were sitting?

If you sit down you don't 'support the lads'? Interesting logic It also 'looks shite'. To who? Plymouth's top lads. They were pointing and laughing at people sitting down. It was so humiliating. Since when do we give a sh*t what a bunch of cream-tea munching in-breds think? Are we snowflakes now?

Someone on here mentioned the infirm or those with kids should purchase tickets at the front. Seems to make sense until we score and a load of beer sodden idiots charge down to the front rolling over anyone who just happens to be standing in the way or worse still being smashed into the wall at the front.

For me I enjoy the volume and the singing but don't enjoy some of the behaviour which comes with it. I enjoy the atmosphere where I sit in the Tile Mountain when the team are doing well and everyone is singing and supporting and sitting down so that you can watch the football. Having had someone land on me from three rows back when we scored at one away match I prefer to sit amongst other people who are sitting and just jump out of their seats when we score.
