Schumacher might or might not be the right guy.
Ditto Walters.
Ditto JC.
Ditto Darnborough.
But for the next few months at least we have a squad packed with young and talented players. It’s not perfect and I’m not sure Schuey knows his best team or how to get the best out of the squad he has.
But. He seems keen to play the young lads. Walters seems to be on the same page.
And fucking hell can they play.
Time to sit back and enjoy. Fuck worrying about promotion or relegation. Just enjoy the football and young lads playing because they love it.

I haven’t been to or seen the away games other than small clips, but the only thing I’ll pick up on that frustrates me a bit, and it’s probably down to lack of experience, is the lack of composure sometimes on the ball.
I just saw the end of the boro game when 5 up and we were rushing passes like it was a cup final. When you want to control and take the sting out of the game just keep possession, nice simple crisp passes instead of like a hot potatoe.

Still can’t see a serious plan out there but Watford/WBA highlighted we need a seriously good manager to address all avenues not just a very poor Plymouth side.

No I don’t. My last thread was looking back at some of the stupid comments about Walters, Schumacher and Darnborough. This one is about looking forward beyond that and recognising that we have perhaps the most exciting young squad we’ve had in decades. If admin agree with you and want to merge the threads I’ve no issues but I see them as different and distinct. |

I think we have a very watchable set of young players right now. BUT lets be honest we have only scored 3 goals in 4 league games so far.
We need to add a bit of steel in the middle of the pitch to make us more effective. Its pretty obvious to me.
Just sticking on 6 attacking players every game is not going to win many football matches this season. I would like to see a little bit of balance.

Schumacher wanted to build a younger squad full of energy and the early signs show he's on the way to doing that.
This season is going to be up and down but if it means we're seeing a young group of lads giving everything then I'm all for it.

It’s very likely we’ll be inconsistent this season given the age of the squad.
I just want to see a well coached side, who work hard (doesn’t necessarily mean just run a lot) and who goes out to score goals and win games. I can’t stand another season of us trying to contain the opposition and play to nullify the team we’re playing.
That squad, especially at the top end of the pitch, should be finishing in the top half of the table.

I actually think enjoying it is going to be pretty easy this season and as always it’s my No1 priority. No predictions on where abouts that will leave us in the table but we’ve got some very exciting young players to watch and a coach that doesn’t play it safe. |
