Schumacher deserves sacking if he starts Thompson or Laurent on Saturday. He's pretty much said he'll do that before the game anyway because of the travel involved. Where are they coming back from, the moon?

Possession is the most overrated statistic in football. An absolute vanity that means nothing. Ive said the same for years mate I hate it when supporters point to more possession when they get beaten. Having 2 carthorse defenders piss around while the opposition get back in shape or wait for them to get comfortable before pressing is plain stupid. Players seem to want to boost their pass completion stats just for the sake of it.

It’s a fantastic win but as usual people are jumping to all sorts of conclusions - there is so little resemblance between these cup games and the gritty reality of Championship fixtures that they really should be viewed in isolation. Don’t think many are jumping to too many positive conclusions? In fact it’s probably more the opposite? The positive is we have young players who can clearly make a contribution as the season progresses if they have a strong framework around them - problem is we don’t have that framework ..... yet.

They had about 4 first teamers to start & brought on 5 more. So not far off the first team.

Just got home, that's why we are Stoke fans and stick with them through the hard times.
Juse one match, but it will be in the memory cells for ever.
Thank you lads, you gave them a thorough thrashing.

Middlesbrough's tweet - We exit the Carabao Cup. Paul Edwards commented: "Not so much Exit as being unceremoniously man handled out of the back door under a blanket before being bundled into a clow car that back fires and loses its bumper as it crawls off in front of 23 other championship managers watching and laughing". Fucking brilliant xD

I’m not sure Koumas is here after Christmas unless we are seriously in the hunt Why not? Do you think he’ll play for Liverpool? 😂 He’ll be loaned out to a premier league club or someone battling at the top of the table if we’re not.

If he’s playing well, enjoying and scoring he will have no reason to want to leave half way through. It’s great for him, and you can see he’s absolutely loving it. Automatic starter now, good on him.

Bit of a freak scoreline especially considering boro had plenty of chances when it was 0-0 or 0-1. Run that game over 100 times and no way we win 0-5 again.
Awesome confidence boosting night though. We have plenty to be excited about. The average age of our team was well over a year younger than theirs. We have the core of a team that has proven it can be handy at championship level plus plenty of young talent to develop. In the right hands these next few years could be electric.
Also Nathan Lowe scored twice for Walsall in their comeback against Huddersfield.

Depends if you’ve got a half full or half empty perspective. We limited WBA to far fewer chances we were just not as clinical as we were last night. Funny game, football.
