A positive 45 mins at home to Coventry. Then two abject performances to follow. Are we on the road to nowhere again?

Early days.
Things will settle down after the window closes and the international break. I’m still fairly relaxed as it stands….

Still too early to judge.
But fucking hell it’s frustrating to start another season off the pace.
When are we going to look like an even moderately-sized fish in this league? It’s doing my head in.

I just long for a season where we might look somewhat like getting into the playoffs.

We're going down. We look fucking abject. I thought it was an even game, but we gave away two easy goals and really should at least have scored one more! WBA will probably be top 6 again too.

I thought they looked comfortable and hardly got out of second gear. They did when we equalised and then immediately scored again. Men against boys, we look far too weak.

When Junho is 100% fit, we will sign a striker and Gallacher will come in, they’ll all link up seamlessly with Koumas and we will be firing on all cylinders.
We will piss this tinpot league :-D

I'm fuming after watching that garbage.
The first half hour was a shambolic horror show that at least improved to a frustrating 5/10 non-entity of a performance against a conservative team quite content to soak up our pathetic attempts to lay a glove on them
No idea what we were trying to do.

Those on here who were happy to write the first 4 games off to get 'the right players' in are getting their wish. Now, where are these players?

Home records used to be a matter of pride.
Players and managers we have had in recent times fall woefully short in terms of commitment and pride in seeking to make our once bastion ground a place to be feared.
Lily-livered mice the lot of them.
I will only have respect for them when I see and believe they will "die" for the shirt.

Have to pray this next week gives us the signings we need, but early evidence for me is that unless we make several more good signings, we’re in for more of the same if not worse. It’s not even just positionally for me, it’s the physical side of it. Whatever we do, we never seem to get the balance of the squad right where others, like WBA, do it consistently and easily.
Big centre backs who defend Big enough full backs with pace Quick wingers Plenty of left footed options Creativity Strikers who score goals
How we find ourselves needing the players we do, again, is just daft. We need a right back, possibly another left back (not sold on Bocat), a striker and I think another couple who add something - either pace or height or something that we just miss.

There is no point getting all these diminutive players in to the club if they are surrounded by one pace lightweights. The lack of dynamism and power at the back and midfield is shocking. West Brom and Watford didn’t need to use skill to get through us they could just steam roller through as our players are weak as piss. Understanding this our players back off rather than battling for the ball and ergo we have no control of the game at all. We desperately need power and pace in this team.

I never look at the table until end of September. Teething issues - calm down all it’s still August ffs. How has that been going for you for the last 8 years? That's like not looking at your bank balance for half a year because you are afraid of the truth. 🤷♂️. I think it says a lot going forward. What I wouldn't give for a positive half a season only to tail off... And just miss out on playoffs, or end up in the top 10. It isn't that much to ask for given how much we spend, but it's seemingly beyond the setup of the club, it's owners, and those employed including players managers coaches etc.

It will , I fear , be another season involving an unbalanced squad , a lack of core strength and ever changing tactical shenanigans. Best not to dwell on it.

A fit Junho and Burger, and Gallagher and Lawal making a positive impact, then you never know. As disheartening it is to see the away crowd celebrating the full time whistle yet again, it’s still too far too early to write the season off.

We look a poor side, full of bang average players that are going to struggle. Our defence is too small against most teams and seems to be made up of hand-me-downs for "little old Stoke". Midfield struggles to pass the ball or control it properly. Attack - the only highlight was Koumas who at least threatened at times. I'm concerned as WBA weren't meant to be the best in this division but they easily saw out their win.
