He made his debut against Stoke a couple of years ago after MON sacking. He was only 17 stood out as class and if along side Gibson could learn a lot and has pace to cover. Same game Adam Wharton came on and again looked class though we stood off him. Also watched him later that season at Blackburn he again looked decent for young defender. If we get him it would be a great addition.

Wow pace, composure and can pass as well as defend. What’s not to like, I can’t remember when we last had a CB with pace. Get him in.

This is a bit more like it and we've definitely had success in loaning young CB's before, but have we got time to nurture another player in such a demanding position? Hopefully the other loans were his stepping stones and now he's ready to become a top player for us.
I'm sure some will say, what about Anderson and Dixon though?

He's got more experience than those 2 though? Not that much, but 26 games under his belt and managed to prove himself capable in them. |

Sounds like a good fit and compliment to Gibson. I guess time will tell for some of the more difficult attributes to gauge (concentration, positioning, decision-making) but certainly has strong physical attributes, which is good for a young lad in case they need to get out of trouble or help to cover.
Only slight worry is whether Tchamadeu would’ve benefitted from someone more experienced next to him to help avoid any panicking. Maybe Phillips’ composure will be infectious for Tchamadeu, though?
