We need someone to come on and get Stoke going. Just flat at present and Burger in particular looks way off the pace.

I think he wants to press and doesn't believe Baker would do his part. We’ve got Lawal and now Moran for that. One of them should be playing with Burger back in his more natural position as a 6. I was just guessing at his plans, I agree mate! |

My overriding observation on that first half is pretty simple…
Gooch is absolutely fucking useless
Apart from him we are doing ok. Tezgel a bit isolated and midfield combination lacks creativity but there are some positive signs…apart from Gooch

Sitting with the Watford players friends, family etc. Observations:
1. Started well, but 2nd best since the drinks break.
2. Apparently there’s a scout from Sheff U sitting along from me here to watch a Stoke player. No idea who.
3. Old guy on the row behind me has spent most of the half asleep, which seems fair comment.

+ 2 CBs have been decent
+ Manhouf looks a threat
- Junior concerns me defensively. Positioning all
over the place
- Don’t look like scoring
- Gooch lots of energy but we need better
Subs are key.
Bae
Koumas
Moran
Mae
Could really make an impact if we keep it tight.

Relatively decent first half. Not a lot of end product, but we created a few chances. Both teams have had their time on top, without either looking likely to score.
Feels like a more positive away performance than the majority of last season. They are so physical, but we are putting in a shift and aren’t being as bullied as could have happened.
The obvious issue, is where does our goal come from. Good quality on the bench, Mmaee the only option. One big positive is the likes of Moran, Junho, Koumas (and Bosun) all being starting options moving forward. Seems like we are building a decent squad.

1-0 Watford win incoming. We don’t look like scoring at all. Neither team does. Both had the same level of chances. Could be 0-0 or 1-0 either way, same as last weekend. |

I think our GK+defence looks way way better than in ages. That's a really good positive for me.
We've got Bae, Sidibe and new signings to help sort out the issues elsewhere.

Not a bad first half at all. Decent
Can tell preseason has certainly payed off. Whole team look fitter.
2 teams who are both set up well and we're more than competing with a good side.
Absolutely nothing to complain about for me

Sissoko is the key, if he keeps control of midfield second half they are favourites to win.
Our main hope is to get the wings more mobile.
Pity galley is injured, could do with him up against pillock.
Hoping for a draw after that first half.

I don't know but if Million had put his laces through the ball on two occasions instead of gently passing to their keeper we may have been at least one goal to the good. |

Would look at Gooch and Burger as candidates to be subbed early second half for Koumas and Moran.
Tezgel has played cleverly I think but will no doubt come off for Mmaee after about 65 mins

Well according to their comms team Sissoko was quality first half in their last league game then faded badly in 2nd half. With him being 35 that is to be expected. |

Agreed but to be fair, it's a hard bias to shake. Passenger would have flattered him at times last season. Good to see improvement from him. |

We’re doing okay just need a bit more in the final third which will hopefully come with the subs later in the game. Could easily go either way, think 1 goal probably wins it for either side though

Got my Dr.Who booth in the garage. He's lost the ball several times, and won very few duels. Apart from the layoff to Tezgel early I think he's been kinda poor. TBF so has Burger and Thompson. |
