If we don't bring in a decent striker we will struggle again, just like last season Said every supporter of every club in the Championship Well I didn't see many of them struggling to score as badly as we did last season and since then we're weaker up front.

Didn't go and didn't watch the match.
How did Burger perform?
I'm seriously concerned about his form.

Went today and our midfield was shocking and we desperately need a right back , and a striker although the best of forwards wouldn’t have scored today no service, isolated

Didn't go and didn't watch the match. How did Burger perform? I'm seriously concerned about his form. Poor game to be honest, but he was not the only one. The most concerning thing was that they needed to be patient and play the ball on the deck. Putting high balls into the box with no tall strikers was meat and drink for them. We just weren't very clever. Bae and Koumas when they came one looked sharp but the game was gone then

Didn't go and didn't watch the match. How did Burger perform? I'm seriously concerned about his form. Not good. He got dominated and he tried a few times but just didn't get available in useful postions. While he managed some tidy passes the creative throughball stuff didn't come off. I'm one of his biggest fans but seriously don't think he fits there. Hopefully Schuey has worked that out now.

Just back. Great day in London and Watford apart from about 4pm for 50 minutes.
First half was even with very little to get excited about. Second half a disaster and Watford should have scored double what they did.
The most frustrating thing watching it was that we could see the game was running away from us after their two quick fire goals at the start of the second half, but Schumacher didn’t change anything until the 60th minute, it’s like everything had been planned pre match. No subs until the hour no matter what went on until that point!
Schumacher had a brilliant reputation for changing games with his subs and tactics at Argyle but today he just decided to watch and do nothing whilst Rome burned. Very disappointing and worrying.

Tezgel was clearly out of his depth. If Schu insists on sticking to his 1:2 midfield Moran and Junho for the two advanced roles imo. that doesn't mean that's what I'd do, i'd change to a 2:1 midfield and play 2 of the numerous decent deeplying midfielders we have in roles that suit them.

Tezgel was clearly out of his depth. At a loss as to why Baker keeps getting shit on at stoke, ok he had the long term injury which put him down the pecking order but he’s always capable of scoring or providing as shown in our opening two games, I know he’s not hit the heights of when he first arrived but imo he’s still the best midfielder in our squad.

Imagine by two weeks time a third of the team might be a Premeirship bench warmer, shipped off to Grimsby, Millwall or Swansea. you could be faced with living away from home, having a hundred mile drive to work each day, so it is no surprise if your motivation is compromised.

This result may actually help us long term, as it really highlights that we still need certain positions improving. If we had kept winning they may have just thought we will be ok with this squad until January. If we can get a right back in I would definitely look at loaning Tchamadou to someone in league 1, like we did with Souttar and obviously the lack of goals up top is a big issue that needs addressing, as you would not back any of our current strikers to get into double figures this season.

Their defender had Gooch in his pocket so they were able to lighten that side a bit and commit more to winning the rest of the pitch. Stretching them with danger on either side should have helped. I think on here we were shouting to replace Gooch and burger a fair bit before they were hooked. (Although we were on first half and the shitshow happened very very quickly)

I mean we knew that the team was pretty weak before the season started. I predicted another relegation battle pre season but last week did give me some hope. It’s just part of being a stoke fan… 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Surely that's 1 step forward and 1 back, don't exaggerate A 1-0 home win followed by a 3-0 thrashing? We didn’t loose a close game by one goal, we got our arses handed to us by a poor Watford side. It’s a huge step back from last weeks performance.

Must admit, I’ve not seen any of it and won’t be watching any of it as I can’t be doing with watching us being pumped, but sounds like we’ve had a nightmare after half time.
Feels like the season has started 3 weeks too soon for us, too many injuries and too much still left to do with the squad. We kept Coventry at bay without them even troubling us, but I did fear we wouldn’t be able to do the same against Watford. It actually feels like it’s March time and injuries are hampering us, I’ve never known it at the start of a season.
Have to get this one out of our system and hope injuries piss off and new signings are available to bolster us next week. Maybe we’ll become a proper home side again.

I could see them getting on top towards half time , it would have been wise to go 5-3-2 at half time to match their style, Cleverly saw the opportunities , made his change at half time and got instant results . What was most worrying was how we just didnt react to conceding and were all over the place for 20 mins should have been 5 or 6

Was their first offside? From the highlights it looks like their goalscorer is in an offside position when the shot comes in?

Thoughts: 1. In this league you must score when on top. We started well and Milly missed one he really should have scored. That could have changed the whole complexion of the game. 2. Thommo, Burger & Laurent does not work well as a midfield 3. I suspect Lawal, Burger & Moran will be Schuey's preferred choice once all are fit. We need them all starting together soon yet Lawal is still a few weeks away from fitness, which is frustrating. 3. Why was Mmaee on the bench ahead of Ennis? Ryan needs minutes to catch up after an injury hit pre-season, yet he missed Carlisle & the u-21 game, and was then deemed not fit enough to come on for 30 mins, only getting the last 10 mins, so young Koumas was thrust up front for a while, when Ennis did a decent enough job as sub last weekend. Bizarre. 4. We were outmuscled in midfield and caught out on the flanks. Laurent & Burger are big lads, Thommo no shrinking violet, so that was disappointing. The young FBs got beaten by overloads with little support from their wingers and not enough nous to shepherd their men away from danger. Their change at h/t caught us out, which Schuey did not seek to counter until the damage had been done. 5. Why were we still in the changing rooms mentality after h/t? All the hard work in the 1st half was undone in 5 minutes. Gibson speaks well about this in his interview. We must be switched on and up for it for 90 minutes. We've seen this type of thing far too often in recent years. 6. Centre forward - we need one this week. Tezgel is promising but still learning. Gallagher lasted 25 mins and is now out for weeks, Mmaee, jury out, Ennis, runs around a lot but not good enough. Without a genuine no.9 goalscorer we will struggle to convert possession and dominance in games into goals, and won't climb up the table.

From the highlights you're probably right, but the first goal almost always have a big impact on games. Anyway, I couldn't stream this game as I was in a birthday party, but as said the highlights certainly showed Watford were the better team.
