I like Coventry, it’s like Croxden Abbey, but with people living there.

Cheeky bastards didn’t even have a ground for years and had to play in Northampton.
I’d like to see the fuckers walk there from Coventry.

Football wise best known for Jimmy Hill, that Ernie Hunt / Willie Carr free kick, FA Cup final comeback win v Spurs and most of all for having an all-seater stadium before they were a thing. No one knows when they stopped being the Glaziers and became the Sky Blues or is it the other way round? Wasn’t it Palace who were the glaziers until they randomly decided to be eagles instead?

Some decent fans on there to be fair, a bit of piss taking which I don't mind and some respectful fans too, on the whole they seem a good bunch

Coventry are just another beige club like Preston or Watford. They just exist to pad out the league until someone else replaces them in the game of promotion/relegation. They are clubs no one would miss if they disappeared from the league to be replaced by the next lucky contender from the lower echelons. Preston make both look like exciting clubs, there isn't a club around that is a boring as Preston, they must have spent about 50 years finishing mid table every year. There really is no point in Preston

Having lived in (a nicer part) of Cov for 2-3 years before, overall it is undoubtedly worse than Stoke Coventry seems like a town on its knees but it’s testament to just how rundown, depressed and decrepit Stoke-on-Trent truly is that makes me seriously question your judgment Having lived in both I would say so - There are nice places around both cities - The centres are similarly shit - People there generally aren't as friendly - You don't feel safe in quite a few parts of Cov

Never saw this ..your town is shit stuff when it comes to football. Even more ironic when it comes from say Coventry or West Brom etc Sour grapes Chardonnay seemed to the tipple of choice for them last night. Next please ...

They are a really strange bunch. They just spend their entire time trying to force a rivalry with every club because nobody cares enough about them. They are just "there" Coventry to everyone in Britain is 1. The place Keeping Up Appearances was filmed. 2. And when you go past Rugby on the train to London everyone seems to class that as sort of the unofficial half way point to London and someone asks where the hell Rugby is and the reply is "near Coventry" They are known for absolutely nothing else. Triumph Motorcycles. Triumph/Standard Cars. Home of the Hillman Avenger. Frank Whittle, father of the Jet engine. Great engineering City. Lady Godiva's arse.

Very touchy about the piss take of Twist and Shout Never noticed them sing it before, it was embarrassing, absolutely fair game to take the piss As for Stoke-on-Trent being not a nice place, glad they told us, had no idea, thought I was living in an urban paradise Will have to get down to Cov to experience sophisticated modern city I've been and I struggled to find the hanging gardens of Babylon. There were no herds of roaming wildebeest either. Disappointed.

Gordon Burns could commentate and a sergeant major shouting at any tubby fan not putting enough effort in. That should sort it.

WTF are they thinking. It made “mauled by the tigers” look intimidating. I thought exactly that when I heard it.So camp it's unreal. I can't believe no one else has taken the piss. Woooo. I guess it shows how little other parts of the ground could hear the away fans. They sang it non stop for about 20 mins 2 years ago. It's no 'Is this a library' or 'I wanna go home', granted. Or the ever so butch Delilah. Stoke fans having a go at camp songs when we have one of the gayest going.

Brighton Sky Blue Well-Known Member Yesterday at 5:47 PM #2 Shittest ground in the country for ease of access. I can honestly say he’s never been to a Coventry home game, now that place is a fuckin nightmare to get away from unless you are on the coach No parking within anywhere near to the place and the train station around 5 miles away Fuckin loon Yeah their ground is an absolute bastard. Not sure they should be ripping the location of our ground in all fairness. And let’s not forget tickets at their place are £40 ! I would prefer we charged them the same if they are taking the piss by charging us that amount. If we can’t do a sensible reciprocal deal, them charge them what they are charging us.

Personally, I think they are best known for cheating by Jimmy Hill delaying the kick off so they could pass sideways for final15 mins against Bristol City and make sure Sunderland went down instead of either one of them. Then there was the fabulous goal (by Spurs I think) that hit the stantion inside the goal that was disallowed by the officials, then the penalty at our place that hit underside of the bar and a few feetover the line that was not awarded (that would have relegated them, then their MickyGynn offside goal against us in the FA Cup the year they won it.they are a shithouse club and I have almost never been so happy that the day they did get relegated from the Prem and hope they never, ever return. Hate them.

Bayern is right that a lot of criticisms other fans make about our ground are the same ones our own fans make. (Terrible location, bland)
It’s just funny hearing it from a fanbase who are in no position to say such things without at least acknowledging that the same applies to them.
I’m sure most Coventry fans are decent but I do anecdotally feel like they have way too many deluded fans on social media. A lot of them truly lack the self-awareness to understand their place in the footballing pecking order. You get the impression they see themselves as much bigger than just a ten to a penny middling sized club from a small city.
I always remember a comment on the bbc HYS after the fa cup debacle when we were premiership and they were division 4 with average gates of 9k or so.
“The only shock is that it’s a shock. Cov are a far bigger club from a far bigger city”
Annoyingly the comment was overwhelmingly upvoted. Thought they were gimps ever since.

The way I see it, the Coventry fans had a good seating area in a modern stadium and good access. They even have pubs to go to where they are welcome next to the ground. We deservedly beat them and they didn't like it. I have visited far worse away grounds than ours . What I saw yesterday we will finish higher then them. Stoke are back
