For those criticising this competition, its good to bear in my mind that these experiences could be so important for some of our younger players development. They are not going to get this in the Under 21s.
Its hugely encouraging and well done to the manager for getting these players involved in a competitive game.

Job done with minimal fuss Good night for the young lads Nothing wrong with Johnson’s performance either,fans criticising should be more interested in the 2 performances of Wouter Burger this season in my opinion Is it me, or does Wouter look like he's just going through the motions? Something is definitely not right. He looks distracted at times and off the pace. He’s either not fully fit or his heart isn’t in it for some reason. |

Just back from swimming and what a result and two goalscorers to come back to! How did they all play? Never mind the game. The real question is "how did you get on at swimming?" 🤣 80 lengths in about an hour. And 3 women bitching about another woman who is a really good swimmer and they were clearly just a bit jealous. So that was very funny! |

Just back from swimming and what a result and two goalscorers to come back to! How did they all play? The academy players did not look out of place and deserve to play in the next round. A quick breakdown below. Anderson - played left side C/H - very good on the ball and bar one pass very good distribution. Positional good and will learn with experience about closing down. Goal header back across goal. Dixon - Right back - very comfortable on the ball and advanced to start attacks - positional good always looking around to be aware of space and movement. passing again very good in general his only whoops moment was a clearance under pressure that trying to clip a ball forward it got a lot of height but went diagonal and about 10 metres forward landing on the edge of the area but a bit of wind could have reduced the distance of the clearance. Sidibe - midfield central/right - Very comfortable, strong and always looking for and playing the right pass. Unlucky not to score when reading a deflected save and adjusting position to hit a shot from 16 yds against the bar. Tezegel - late sub - Good movement and rewarded with his first Stoke goal - Lovely run through the middle which Gooch? slotted and ideal pass Tezegel controlled and worked a central angle to get a shot away which was partly blocked but power and position enabled it to go in. |

Love that big home end and roof. A classic stand. I suppose it says a lot about the game when we are reduced to posting about a stand. Seriously though, it is a true classic and should have a Grade 2 preservation listing. |

Impressed with Dixon out of position, looks a really good footballer. Yep, everything he does is done with ease, strokes his passes first time, gets his head up and is calm on and off the ball. All this and playing out of position as well. We’ve got a very good player in the making here. |
