Conclusions from tonight:
1. We need a striker desperately.
2. Frank Fielding is a shitting lunatic.

Well in Tezzy, kind of jammy finish but he did all the work to get there with a Michael Owenesq run His Saturday performance wasn't perfect but his runs were good IMO, the sort of timing that a lot of players just don't have.

Aggregate age of 35 for tonight’s goal scorers. The kids are alright

I really want Ennis to kick on, he reminds me a bit of Diouf, all of the ingredients except the natural finishing, but if he had it he wouldn't be playing for us.

2-0 up, both goals scored by exciting youngsters, a couple of other young lads getting plenty of minutes aswell, yet all I've read on here is ten pages of moaning at how wank everything is. The youngsters have done well. Koumas looked tidy. Im just pissed off how bad Johnson and Ennis are.

Good run out really, Carlisle performed better than expected in fairness.
Anyway, safely through and a good 90mins in the legs.

I’m not convinced Burger is actually that great Is it a case of head turned by the Spurs rumour? Doubt it. There were points last season when we played our best football and he was out of the team

Well happy with that - coming through the type of game we’ve lost countless times in last few years, another clean sheet, youngsters playing and scoring, Koumas looking very decent and we’re taking the winning habit from the back end of last season into this one.

Not exactly stamped our class on the match there but a good runout and nice to see the youngsters blooded. No injuries, as far as I could tell. Gibson not used, Bae to come back on Saturday? And 5 games won with no goals conceded.
Now we just need Mmaee and Vidigal replaced, maybe Cundle in for Laurent out? Bosh we're going up.

Largely enjoyed that. Good run out for all the young lads and didn’t think any looked out of place. Great for Tezgel to get his first goal which should boost his confidence. Main concern was Burger looking off the pace, thought Thompson looked much more accomplished when he came on.

Can't really grumble too much at that.
First Round of the League Cup can throw up some weird and wonderful results and shocks and we've just gotten through relatively comfortably whilst playing some of our best young talents.

🤦♂️ we all know it won’t be the team saturday but doesn’t change the fact they’re playing poorly I don't think they have done, disjointed but largely professional and acceptable. 2-0 and into the next round so far and some good minutes for youth and those who need it. I do remember making the trip to Morcambe and getting knocked out and using practically our first XI. So a marked improvement.
