Many of his policies were good but a confirmed pacifist has no place at the top of the tree in the world today. I voted for his Labour Party at the time but not for Corbyn as PM. That's a paradox I know, but anything at the time was better than the Tories. OS. A strong distinction however is I'd argue corbyn is a contingent pacifist rather than an absolute pacifist as he supported resistance in South Africa for instance. I respectfully disagree that pacifists can't be good leaders, and given the current state of the world - it doesn't seem the non pacifists are doing a particularly good job.

Did Frances "Casandra" Coppola have a Bobby Ewing episode and emerge from the shower 5 years later to discover she didn't write a Article for the Daily Mail? Please tell me its Coppola's naive Economic scribblings that are being called out Or are we revisisting Corbyns attendance with Jewdas at Passover Seder Or is it Corbyn's Lieutenant Lansman's criticism of Jewdas that is being questioned Whichever it is I retain the right to be offended # rightlefton

They'd have been transformative alright. I don’t think they could have been worse than where we are now. Huddy would have had free Internet which surely is a current a drain on his expenses with the amount of searching for Lefty Twitter nonsense he currently shares. Living in an extreme Socislist Dystopia might be alright, I just don't want to be the Guinea Pig to find out.

Free or heavily subsidised high speed internet across the country would be a transformative policy that would allow those marginalised to access services and opportunities they currently don't have, and bring provincial towns and cities into the 21st century and allow them to attract new business and investment. It happens in places like South Korea, it's amazing how many of Corbyn's policies that were mocked are just rolled out in Scandinavia and parts of Asia without people batting an eyelid.......

All those kids at the bottom with access to all that information could have transformed their lives. Corbyn understands levelling up more than any other politician. His views on defence were worrying but that aside he's a true man of the people and was really on our side

The greatest Prime Minister we never had. This country would be transformed and happy right now. Unfortunately having some really good ideas does not automatically make you a great or even good PM. Corbyn had some massive flaws, his response to the Salisbury poisonings and anti semitism being two recent massive own goals. He also has an inability to forge consensus to bridge even relatively narrow political divides which as politics is the art of the possible is a real weakness. Speaks the truth on many issues but effective PM? Not in a million years.

It's about cost v the socio-economic benefits that a particular policy brings. Free travel is actually being adopted across many countries/cities in Europe for the exact same reason........

In practise it sounds great. I just don't think anything should be free. Correctly subsidised, incentives whatever.. I just think free fundamentally is flawed and sends the wrong message. I spend a few weeks a year in Geneva, as you say they adopted free Buses and trams, but a regular meal is about £30 and all the working residents have to cross the border to France to do any form of basic shopping. It's a gimic as GDP is garnered elsewhere.
