I miss RAF. I think he still posts but less regularly. We didn’t really get on but I liked him. Pugsley too. Again we often argued but he was decent. Again he’s still here but less frequently and the board is a poorer place for it. Jamo was great too. You’d almost get a little emotional reminiscing. Almost! Raff still phones me every now and then. In real life he's a super intelligent lad and as sound as a pound. His young lad is growing up now and that's where his heart is nowadays. Top, top lad. OS. Good to hear. Definitely a very intelligent bloke. Which explains why I could never win an argument with him 😂😂😂 |

Well I must be one of the longest lurkers… read almost daily but rarely post. Just checked and registered 2004….. 180 posts….. Did anyone ever find out who davesview was? Dunno there was a rumour he was Keith Humphries. I once tried to start a rumour that davesview was actually David Icke. Unsurprisingly the thread was quickly shitbinned |

I can remember looking at ceefax and ringing clubcall on premium numbers on the works phone to get transfer info. Me too, run up quite the bill...... |

There used to be far more interlectewals back in the day. I think they all realised it was pointless trying to be a clever clogs and now merely lurk, probably constantly half typing out well reasoned posts before realising the futility of it all and mashing the delete key. I'm picturing a depressed looking greyman here, with a cognac in one hand, PC sat on an old oak desk with a CRT monitor (no mobile devices here), sat in a Chesterfield captain's chair, look of despair on his face at the state of it all, before going back to watch another YouTube clip of Stewart Lee. Although I see skip is giving it a go again lately, quoting some bloke from that John Hurt film. I feel duty bound as some subjects or positions cannot go unchallenged (although I have learnt to edit and delete far more than I post). greyman's avatar was as funny as fuck. |

I did notice a Facebook recommendation of Macca a couple of weeks back and I had a brief reminiscent of the old oatcake occasional's with wismaster, Knype, Scaz et all. If I remember rightly oldstokie was a manager of one of the games that was held at the mich? Some great times! |

I have always wondered why some of the posters I most enjoyed reading on here (Old Stokie, Fornside, Dave, PhilR et al) slowly post less and less and then just stop. Not that I was ever a great poster, but now that I'm getting up there in age, I have realized the answer .... it just takes sooooo much energy to try and keep an even keel. Reading the majority of posts on here anyone would swear we are either the worst team in the world with a bunch of trained worms developing strategy or that Stoke is a gift to the world that very few of us deserve to be allowed to support. As I have already started my transition to occasional dropper-in (deleted my former pre-rivals username), I'll leave you with one basic philosophy: Be kind (or at least tolerant) to your fellow Stokies! We all support the same team We all want us to do better, no matter how well we're currently doing Tons of people out there hate everything about Stoke, especially its fans. There is no need for us Stokies to constantly run each other and/or the club down. Things are never as black (or as rosy) as attention-seeking extremists like to make out. And with that, I doff my hat and look forward to some scintillating Stoke chatter in my role of lurker. I’m still here 😉 😂 |

I was same on the rivals board. Still here after two hip replacements and duodenal cancer. So what happened to Bisphampotter who was our resident cricket and gardening expert. Also Harrysburrow who ran a cafe somewhere down south. I remember Bondygodfatherleek who started the oatcake swap shop, sadly passed away few years ago. I met Bondy when I was tutoring at Leek College many years ago and he was doing a basic maths course. I lent him my Encyclopaedia of Stoke City and he never returned it. Hudsongod morphed into Waiting4waddo but that was easy to spot because of his ranting about TP at the time. Also Admin hardly post anything nowadays, used to enjoy Mermaidsal's post match threads
