Why do people get so excited, time and time again Stoke dampen all hope.. How is it Stoke's fault if somebody has started a dodgy rumour in South America? They must have just woken up from a coma from 2015 when we actually had a chance of this sort of player. |

He was until very recently described endlessly as the best DM in the world by people who know a lot more than you. I never described him as such because I prefer a bigger DM ie Declan Rice before Arteta decided he wasn’t one. Kante plays a strange role for a DM, he always appears more like a floating midfielder to me because he drifts left and right, back and forward. He reminds me of a kid chasing a football all around the park but he does it so well. Kante is very good at using his teammates to trap players with his positioning giving himself the opportunity to win the ball back a lot higher up the pitch than normal. He also gets involved in attacks a lot, his passing is very nice and he has a fast short burst of pace. I could watch Kante all day, best footballer in the world for me Isn’t that because some peoples straight jacketed definition of what a DM does is actually incorrect? |

I don’t want to be negative but if he’s that highly rated I find it hard to believe he’d be coming here. I’d be very very happy to be wrong though. Hopefully he’s better than our last two South American midfielders (although Palacios I think was just an awful tragedy given his brother being murdered). Let’s hope we can sign him and move on one of our current crop Game time? |

If a thread is linked to a player and there are a lot of pages in a short time I always open the last page first to see if it's worth reading from the start. It's one way of avoiding a) disappointment after ten minutes of reading and b) half a dozen pages of on line bickering or puns. |

This guy seemed to be the original source. He definitely mentions Stoke specifically about 20 seconds in Ok, but what's he actually said? Interested? Deal done?.. a lot can get lost in translation and I don't want to get my hopes up. He said the youth player Oscar Zambrano will travel to Stoke soon, and contract details will come later. Also, it sounds like Zambrano is a youth team player for his club, but he also mentions he will miss the upcoming cup match since he is heading to England. |
