Any news after their top 5 finish last season. If the Men's team had had a top 5 finish we wouldn't have heard the end of it, with endless speculation about next season.

If you mean on the Oatcake then i think it is almost about the mens team. This page would be good so posters could put any updates from the ladies team.
The main Stoke City website has a section dedicated to the womens team and on the main pages in the last couple of weeks annouced a few signings. The womens manager (Marie Hourihan) giving updates and friendlies details.
Start a page dedicated to the ladies team like bayern does for the mens Development team each season.

5th out of a 12 team league that includes Hashtag United. Good luck to em, hope they do well but it’s not really news is it?

I wish the Ladies all the luck in the world and hope they are as successful as they can be.
Either people will enjoy watching them / women's football in general or not. Personally I don't particularly get any enjoyment out of watching but no one should be told what they should or shouldn't do.

I went to watch a ladies match back end of last season, when they were playing Fylde. Fylde had a lady that was, let us say, built very sturdily and I remember thinking she will be hopeless and wont be very mobile - she was the best player on the pitch had great skill and was a Thorne in our side. Likewise, Stoke's best player was a lass who looked 4 stone when wet - reminded me of the old Francis Lee and George Best days when football was entertaining and they came in all shapes and sizes and every team had skilful players worth paying your money to watch.
Ladies game is a miles better product at the moment, they're grateful for you attending for starters, the passion is brilliant, tackles were flying in every where, ref was letting most things go - its a contact sport with no ponces rolling around on the floor - if you like your football with nuts in it, then the women's game is the place to be.
Even the 2 ladies internationals sandwiched in between the men's final(bore fest) was a breath of fresh air - attacking football played with a bit of belief and purpose, goalmouth action, - Sweden game actually had my pulse going - forgot I had one watching the men's tournament.
The men's game needs a overhaul - anybody that watched the euros and thought it was a good tournament has low standards - it was shocking and VAR needs shitbinning

Looks like they've made some good, young signings.

I wonder how many other clubs are semi-pro (which I think we became last season) for women's national league. Newcastle were basically guaranteed the league, although beaten in the league cup final by Hashtag United, which was funny. Wolves and Forest might be, perhaps Burnley. We were 5th last season but with a hefty gap to top 4. As it's not FFP related you'd imagine we can be fairly big spenders for that level (effectively third tier north). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024%E2%80%9325_FA_Women%27s_National_League

Shouldn't this thread be in the EE section?
This part of the board is for threads about Stoke City FC.

Are we talking about the women's team? Or is their a posh offshoot for ladies?
If we're still talking like Victorians,I'm looking forward to a great season of soccer for the Gentlemen's First XI.

All of them should be moved as well Stoke City and other football related talk only here please. Non SCFC and footie related threads will be moved or deleted. So other than Heaney (and with the possible fight at our stadium you could perhaps forgive it) it all belongs on this part of the forum.

But not for Stoke ladies/women/girls because it's semi pro. If we have a thread for everyone who plays football as a hobby there will be too many threads.

If I created a thread for a pub team I played for, I’d expect it to be shit binned or deleted rather soon, in the same way if I created a thread of little or no interest on the EE board. But there’s enough people on here who do have an interest in Stoke’s women team. It’s not my thing either (I clicked on the thread originally by accident) but it doesn’t affect me it being discussed on here. I mean a Stoke City football team being discussed on a Stoke City message board, I’d be a fool to complain.

So when the thread is about Stoke City Ladies you want that moved to a different board, didn't you realise women now have equal rights and can vote ?

I was trying to come up with an example of something a bit too specific. Dog & Duck FC training session highlights.

Drop any talk of the kids coming through then. Also, do the women play football for Stoke City? We know the answer and they meet the criteria for Stoke City and football related talk. Suggest you ask admin to change the rules to only talk about Stoke City full time professionals. Or find another board?
