To be fair, his band have been spot on and at least you can hear what he's saying unlike a lot of rap/hip hop artists when they're live.

To be fair, just about every hip-hop act I've seen live, you can tell perfectly well what they're saying. Well, perhaps with the exception of MF Doom, his mask made his voice all muffly. Discoteque Dave, which rappers have you seen live that have disappointed you?

Noel Gallagher was spot on. Jay Z has no place at Glastonbury. Everybody knows it, but no one dare to stand up and say it because of the politically correct world we now live in.
No disrespect to Jay Z, I just dont think Glastonbury is the right place for him. Hip Hop has never really taken off in Britain (apart from Chavs who like to pretend they're black!!)
But, on the other hand I feel that the state of British music is so poor at the moment that I can sort of understand why the organiseres want to try something different. There isnt one band there that can blow the roof off glastonbury like Oasis did a few years back. The BBC coverage has been terrible. Im sick of hearing nicey nicey Jo Wiley going on about cultural diversity. Im sure she's got loads of Jay Z albums at home!!
A poor lineup overall. Think V will be alot better.

Er, not everyone agrees with Noel Gallagher about Jay Z at all. Glastonbury is at its best when it ignores route one bloke rock. She's paid to say she likes lots of different music, but she really does like lots of different music. The V Festival line up is appalling. No personal offence intended.

Even by the unwittingly Pythonesque standards of the Oatcake M/B that's a pretty fucking surreal statement.

Well seeing as though most of the crowd looked bored to tears during his set id say that there is alot of people who do agree!!

He's fucking shit, just like all the rest of them. They all sound the fucking same and jump about like fucking gibbons decked out in shit clothes and fucking costume jewellery .... the faggots.
Dave Gilmour offered to appear this year and the stupid twats told him they wanted to go in a different direction and declined his offer. Fucking wankers.
Their different direction was to pander to the idiotic fucking wannabe gangsters and cheap white trash who want to be a black homie.
It makes me want to vomit.

Seeings as there's a hell of a lot to choose from at Glastonbury, there were Gods knows how many thousand people who chose to listen to him. Oh look, some other rappers are on the highlights too.
Mr Sausage, I thought better of you. Jay Z doesn't jump around at all.

Skip .... I just fucking loathe the whole hip hop thing. It should stay in the backstreets of the USA where it belongs.
It's associations with guns and violence are just a couple of the reasons why I loathe it.
Then there's the sound .... droning on and on, and the whole ridiculous bling image thing.
It just makes me sick, especially how the chavs seem to pander to it.
When they turn down the likes of Gilmour to put that crap on I'm seriously pissed off.

Im not saying that there isnt a market for jay z, hell there must be judging by the amount of albums hes sold. What im saying is that in my opinion he aint right for glastonbury. The average British festival goer doesnt want to hear about pimped up cars and how many bottles of champagne he drinks or how many girls want his phone number. We like guitars not turntables. You wouldnt see Oasis headlining a US festival purely because the yanks dont like Oasis or indie music in general which is fair enough and is why Oasis never really made it in the states.
Like Noel said "if it aint broke don't try and fix it".
Absolutely spot on!!
