www.hbvl.be/cnt/dmf20240622_98010530Bocat to undergo medical tests at Stoke City on Monday An agreement has been reached between STVV and English Championship club Stoke City regarding the transfer of Eric Bocat. The left wingback will undergo medical tests at Stoke on Monday. If these are also positive, the transfer can be completed. Get us a YouTube montage, Grapey 👍

Seems strange that alot think we wont dip into the foreign market now. Don't really know where that way of thinking has come from to be honest. Think the theory is Walters was a key Pulis player therefore Walters thinks exactly like Pulis Walters played with non British players at Stoke,so he knows what foreign players are capable of,so a mix of both British & foreign is a good way to go.

Think someone may have already have posted it somewhere! Loves a heavy touch doesn’t he. Yeah im hoping people dont get over excited and expect too much from him because from the clips ive seen he’s definitely not the finished article (seems to give the ball away a lot, could be physically a bit stronger and could improve defensively). He does have some good attributes though and there is a 100 percent potential to work with ( he has good pace, agility, stamina, dribbling skills, crossing)

Ngl though I am just hoping that’s a bad edit 🤣🤣

stvvforum.be/viewtopic.php?t=2098www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20240107_95728525Do you already know this team? Despite their qualities, these eleven players from the Jupiler Pro League receive too little attention . We made a team of such ‘unsung heroes ’, players who are not called Kevin Denkey, Aboubakary Koita or Matte Smets and have not yet been paid enough attention to their qualities. 5. Left back: Eric Bocat (24, STVV) According to data from the WyScout scout program, the best left back of the Jupiler Pro League. Technically strong, fast and agile. Dares in the 3-4-3 of STVV as a left wingback also regularly turn up high, making it good for one goal and two assists this season. Did not miss a single game.

Looks a good player. Only concern is his height and how he doesn’t win headers, probably because of it.
Perhaps we will be moving to 343, which would mean a lot of midfielders being sold and buying a few more centre backs!

Just because it's a foreign player doesn't means it's anything to do with Jared. The new guy we hired is known to use the foreign market. Our scouts we have anyway will also know the foreign market The list of targets was drawn up before the end of the season as was well documented at the time. I'm sure Darnbrough will have lists of his own but there is no doubt that most of the players we are looking at were scouted by Jared's team. It takes more than a couple of weeks to identify the players you want for your system and to check their background, character and talk to their agent and club. In hindsight it's why last summer was such a disaster. But that's an assumption..people shouldn't assume that this is jareds work. We were seemingly targeting McCallum for this spot. That fell through recently and up pops Bobat in the last few days so the fact people are still instantly crediting Jared for this is pretty funny. Bobat has been linked with Leicester last window so for all we know Darnborough may have been looking at him when at Hull as well. People just need to stop this foreign player = Jareds work.

Yep days are gone of prioritising your fullbacks being tall and dominant in the air.

FBref has him down as 168cm. At that height he should easily be able to improve his bottom 10% heading ability.

That sounds positive and should, at the very least, help allay concerns that none of our players are called Kevin Denkey*. *If he signed for us and made an unconvincing debut, he probably wouldn't be called Kevin Denkey either.

Hopefully, he'll bring some stability and reassurance for the left-hand side now, along with Stevens, we are more secure than previous seasons, and let's hope he is as good as we are reading.

I would say he’s closer to around 5ft9 I’m not going off Fifa or wiki, FM which is accurate has him just shy of 6foot. No idea what you’re basing 5ft 9 off, nothing to suggest that on any of the clips.

Only real gauge. He’s somewhere between 5ft 8.5-5ft 10. You can’t really tell from clips
