I once attended a blues party in Handsworth with a chunky old rig in the living room and Paul McGrath handed me a can of Red Stripe. Tru story. I believe you, can imagine that, life's funny sometimes, hope his knees were up to the dancing. He played for Villa the following day, how, I have no earthly clue how. He gave me a guestie for the Holt End. Only time I've sat/stood on a home end other than ours. (They drew with Cov., with Big Ron managing the Sky Blues.) |

Use go the sounds and the blues when I lived in Leamington, there's a Jamaican community there, and folk used to come over from Coventry and Birmingham too. Didn't meet any footballers but I did once meet Dillinger at a sound in the commonwealth club. True story but I already had a tin of red stripe I think. Did he turn up on his cb200? Associated reggae based information .. well Rock Steady but hey. I played in Alton Ellis's backing band a few years back. P R A I S E |

I played djembe in a band that had Zeb the drummer, and forget his name the keyboard player, from Aswad in it, at a small festival in Wales, 20 odd years ago...does that count? 😅 But Alton Ellis. We backed a few guys over the years but unfortunately 'Chunky' died a few years ago so the band finished. Oh and back on topic.. is Bocat announced yet? |
