The club will have looked at the total cost of signing him and given him a 3 year deal based on that. For example, if we got promoted this season then we could write off pretty much everything we paid for him. Most things in nogger are a gamble. Fingers crossed he makes a valuable difference to our defence. OS. Just wish he had less experience.

Interesting. Not amazed but not bad either. We need another defender and one that's Shawcross level of a signing if we're to be serious.

Leeds looked desperate in the last few weeks, completely lacked leadership You’ll see what you want to see. For me they’d beat Southampton 8 times out of 10 unfortunate for them the final was one of the 2. 😂😂😂 they lost 3 out of 3 against Southampton🤦🏼♂️🔴⚪️

A bad choice of words 😂😂😂 Interesting way of saying you were talking shite 😂😂😂 I should just have said I thought Leeds were a much better side than Southampton. I still do. Clearly not🤷♂️😂🔴⚪️

I should just have said I thought Leeds were a much better side than Southampton. I still do. Clearly not🤷♂️😂🔴⚪️ There's nothing that clear about it. They accrued more points than Southampton and had a marvellous run that saw them go top of the league when Leicester were having a wobble only to have a wobble of their own. We beat Middlesboro in both games but they finished 13 points in front of us and scored 77 goals to our 49 we clearly weren't a far better side.

That shows commitment to the club right there. Good for him. I hope his attitude motivates others. I have a feeling that he’ll get on really well with Bae.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-ben-gibson-9346910"The training ground is fantastic and it’s really important to create a good culture, but all of that is fluffy stuff to be honest. “What really matters is where are we heading, what are we trying to achieve? As much as I love Jon and want to play for a club the size of Stoke, if the aim is to replicate last season or be at best a mid-table Championship team, I wouldn’t be signing here now. I would have kept my options open, dragged it out over the summer. But the commitment to the cause was clear for me. I know what we all want to achieve." On Steven Schumacher: “It was big for me that he had clarity in the way that he wants to play and he knew what I could add because it’s all good having conversations with Jon but if those visions aren’t aligned with the manager, if I’m not someone who the manager sees fitting into his style of play, it’s not going to work. “He really, really impressed me, I’m really, really looking forward to working for him. Everyone you speak to in football, whether they’ve played with him or played for him, can’t speak highly enough of him and I’m really looking forward to getting to know him and working for him.”

At times last season he was. This season is now a new season and the slate is wiped clean and we go again. Please stop with the negativity.

Anyone notice how in all Ben Gibsons Stoke interviews he’s gone on about how he’s cancelled all his holidays so that he can be as fit as possible come pre season. He’s currently in Ibiza 🤣🤣 iv’e not got a problem with it whatsoever, its his free time and he’s entitled to do what he wants, but just a bit weird how strongly he went on about it in his interviews.

He hasn't lied. Cancelled his holiday. Went house shopping. Found one, put an offer in and it was accepted. Had some time to go away. Went on holiday as he had his base sorted.

Interesting that the SJW relationship clearly was a significant factor in identifying and convincing hm hopefully the blend of HOR , SJW and SS can use their different networks to find a combination of qualities and skills .

Something that occurred to me yesterday is that Ben will know Pelach well from Norwich won't he?
Think there's a possibility that he's gone to Walters and at the very least given him a positive reference, and potentially even told him that the players are currently poorly coached?

It's a ridiculous notion TBH. But if there was a smither of truth to it Gibson should be instantly sacked. Players have enough on their plates without interfering with club politics.

If he’s a senior player and he can recognise there’s an issue why shouldn’t he say something if it’s for the good of the team. It’s all about how he says it

It's a ridiculous notion TBH. But if there was a smither of truth to it Gibson should be instantly sacked. Players have enough on their plates without interfering with club politics. Why? If he feels the team are being poorly coached and don't really know what they're doing, he might have been asked as the most senior player in the side. In any case I think it's fairly certain that Walters would have asked for his input on how Pelach is as a coach. It's just so left field.

There is no doubt he is an influential part of JWFC and has the ear of Walters. How else would our DOF know anymore than the square root of fuck all about our potential new coach?
