Had far too much abuse. He’s a striker. He needs decent service and for the best of two years he’s had bugger all I hope he signs, I don’t thinks he’s going to be a 20goal a season man (who is in this league) but I get the impression Schuey likes him and he’ll thrive in a more attacking side Do you think he does? I’m less convinced? Was there something in the “when he plays properly” comment? Who knows. We’ll see over the next week or so I guess.

I really don't get how impressed people seem because he's been okay for a couple of weeks.
Even today, I don't think he was really good. He did the basic job of a striker but is obviously incapable of lots of things a good striker needs to he capable of.
He can't win headers, and worse, has no idea how to pin a defender and hold the ball up or win a flick on. He's always reactive and not proactive.
I don't agree that he's lazy. He works pretty hard but not intelligently.
One example today was a run down the right (can't remember who it was). They were waiting and waiting for a movement from the striker and Ty just hung back on the penalty spot. The player tried to find him but obviously there was no way through. The striker must make a movement to the front post or even the 6 yard box there. To either score or create the hole behind for the late runner to score. He never does that because he clearly doesn't know how.
His goal today, and last week, are the types of goals he does score. But as we've seen. 2 or 3 times a season.
Glad he finished with a goal and generous applause at home (deserves that for his years here) but for me he's proven that he doesn't have the ability we thought he might have. Time to accept it and move on.

3 goals in 23 games , not that good of finishing, we need better He’s not been fit. He was regaining match sharpness. He’s been playing in a malfunctioning team. He’s a player with huge potential and a genuine goalscorer. They don’t grow on trees. sorry i don’t agree

We should try and keep him here because he has more to offer but we need another striker for him to compete against which would hopefully help raise his game.
If he goes Manhoef is making a strong case to be our main striker so we could look for a player in either Manhoefs or Campbells position which might make replacing him a lot easier. It all depends on who is available and for which positions. Strikers aren't easy to come by and we need at least 2 in.

At the moment he's looking like our best striker, it's just another option should we struggle to get anyone else good enough to play up front

Today was just the epitome of Tyrese Campbell. Scored a goal but absolutely bone idle. I'm surprised he's got as much game time as he has under this manager, who's 'non negotiables' are the very basics that Campbell has always struggled with. we don’t have anyone else And that's why we are in the position we're in😢

The stats can be a bit misleading with Campbell. The raw data shows just 36 goals in 136 appearances. However, as we know, he’s not got 90 minutes in his legs, so his appearances tend to either be starts which lead to an inevitable substitution after 60 minutes, or coming on as a sub. With that in mind, he actually scores a goal every 260 minutes, roughly 1 in 3. He’s also contributed 21 assists.
Are we likely to go out in the summer and sign a one in three striker? Highly unlikely in my opinion. I think we should try and keep him if it’s at all possible.

I don’t think Schumacher would have started him if he had no intention of him being around next season. Ditto for Thompson and Stevens, if only in some capacity.

If he doesn't have another club lined up,I can see him staying,he knows he will most likely have the players in the Stoke side next season can can help him score more goals.

Campbell will do what is best for him. I would like him to stay but there is no question that many Stoke fans want him gone. I think SS likes him and probably wants him to stay but I doubt we are prepared to offer him what he wants...and I am OK with that.

I'd like him to stay. His career up to now, often through no fault of his own, has been stop/start. I think that there are players around him now who can bring out the best in him. He does need to work harder at times though but maybe his lack of activity occasionally lulls the opposition into a false sense of security

At the moment he's looking like our best striker, it's just another option should we struggle to get anyone else good enough to play up front I mean today was the first time he’s used his right foot in a Stoke shirt, that’s a hell of a claim! I really like him but he’s clearly gonna score goals wide right and in the modern goal your wide forwards are the most productive players. Hopefully he can keep it up next season and the right footer today was hopefully the first of many.

For me, I have been Tyrese out for the last 24 months, but for maybe the last 3-5 games, he has looked the closest he was to the best player in the league he was before his knee injury. Again… maybe some need to come off their high horse. Our budget will not get a similar finisher. He’s looked good with the productive Bae, Cundle, Manhoef behind him.
Could have had CR7 in this team for most of the year and he’d be on maybe 5 goals.

I’ve had it on extremely good authority that he’s not been offered anything to stay (not to say he won’t be) so today was his last game in a Stoke shirt as things stand.
At 24, I’d keep him. He’s not at his best yet.

We are simply not going to sign a better option on a free.
This is a classic case of a bird in the hand being worth two in the bush.
Give him a new contract and play him wide left with Million wide right and Bae centrally behind.

As good as he can be and he's still our best finisher by a mile, we need someone who actually gives a fuck 100% of the time, best for both if we part ways, we can't afford players who play 5/6 good games a season. He has the attributes to be a top player he just doesn't show up often enough, he's not alone either! That's why we've been shit for years, too many players who have the ability but are no shows 80% of the time.

I agree re Brown, however, I seem to remember most claiming that greeting an upgrade for him would be easy. Fletcher was OK in his time at Stoke. If we’d had him 5 years earlier I would agree that he was much better. The Fletcher we had was well past his best, and only scored one in six, which isn’t quite as prolific as Campbell.

No they weren't Campbell has been way better at Stoke then Brown and Fletcher were for goals and assists which for me as a striker is what's important, see below; Brown- 8846 mins (98 games) 26 goals 6 assists Fletcher- 3972 mins (44 games) 12 goals 4 assists Campbell- 8023 mins (89 games) 32 goals 15 assists
