In a team that is capable of creating chances every week for the forwards he will score a bag load. Great finishing, great feet, has that (often frustrating) greedy streak in him to want to score and can shift when he wants to. We haven't been capable of doing that as a team since he's been in our first team though so we've never seen the most effective version of him. He's not the type to be able to dominate a game single handedly either so hasn't been able to affect enough games for us. He also drove me mad at times with being careless or sloppy, for a guy who had a good first touch it was maddening how many times he gave it away by taking his eye off the ball when he was receiving it. Still good luck to him in my eyes, been one of the brighter players in a rough spell for me. Shades of Powell about him, a handful of moments of real brilliance and a sense of frustration at not hitting the heights they were capable of whilst here. Said this a few times,he has played in poor sides,he will score goals If played with good players, who can give him the service he requires to put the ball in the net. Campbell? doesn't get into goal scoring positions enough , just doesn't get into the box as often as he should

Ty doesn't have a great record at Stoke, but how many have said over the last few years, that Messi would struggle scoring for Stoke,so can we really blame Ty for not scoring enough?

Lazy git. He would only turn up at the end of the season when sniffing around for a new contract.
Glad we got rid but I wish him all the best.

I’m not even close to being ITK, but have a funny feeling he’ll resign on demands that suit us (not him) towards the end of the window.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see him being allowed to join the squad for preseason either.

He has proved numerous times his potential but consistently his powder-puff reliability, and vulnerability to fitness. Where does motivation and determination fit into that.

I’d imagine that the only thing on Tyrese’s mind at the moment is that his father can get well. Football will be the last thing he will be thinking about and likewise debating his football future or past on here is the last thing we should be talking about also.

Alan Nixon says we offered Tye a contract Sheffield United are edging in front in the race for free agent striker Tyrese Campbell. Blades hope their contract offer will see off Swansea and former club Stoke City in the chase for the hit man. Campbell has been considering his options after a sad time when his father Kevin, the legendary striker, passed away. Blades have just sold Will Osula and lost Oli McBurnie and Cameron Archer, so they need extra firepower.

So we let Tyrese go so we could sign better strikers. Then we make an offer for him to sign?! Very concerning if the case.
That said, Ty would be a go option who can cover the front three positions. Would allow us to get rid of Ennis straight away too.

Would allow us to get rid of Ennis straight away too. Pretty sure Ty himself thought he'd be snapped up by a "bigger"/ ££ club so didn't want to stay. Saying that, he won't come back now as it'd be an admission of a misjudgement. Don't rule out a season in the middle east while he looks for better offers if Sheff Utd/ Swansea don't land him.

No proof Nixon's story is correct - but if it is, questions need asking 3 months after Schumacher made clear it was our decision to move on www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-tyrese-campbell-contract-9312076Schumacher said: “It was a really difficult decision for a few reasons as well because good centre-forwards are really hard to come by. I understand that, so difficult, especially someone with Tyrese’s attributes and what he’s got. He’s got something that not many in the division have with his electric speed when he’s in full flow. In the last three or four games that Tyrese played he showed the qualities that he’s capable of and the ability that he’s got. “But the reason that we decided on doing what we were doing is that I think Tyrese has been here for a long time and has shown in glimpses over the years the potential that he’s got but probably hasn’t hit the heights of what his potential could be. “For us, it was probably the idea to go and have a fresh start but also for Tyrese because you know he needs to go somewhere where he can play every week, play in a system that suits him every week and have a fresh start where he can maybe fulfil some of that potential that he’s shown. So yeah, it was a tough decision but it was done with the best intentions for all parties. Hopefully it works out for everybody.”

Bizarre if true, but nothing surprises me at our club from time to time, so much good work being done in other areas, yet recruitment department seemingly is struggling to get their act together.

When Tyrese left was it really the case that we didn’t even offer anything to him?
Or was he offered a contract and decided to leave it, expecting something better to come along?
If it’s the first one it’s hard to see him accepting anything off us other than insane money.
If it’s the second (which seems much more likely to me) then any offer that was made before is probably something an agent would include when leaking news to a journalist, whether he’d actually checked with us if it was still on the table or not.
If he does somehow end up back here, then I’ll be shocked if it isn’t due to a panicked agent ringing us and saying ‘You know that contract offer we rejected earlier in the year…’

It was blindingly obvious we would be unable to afford the fee required to replace him with better. Campbell, Bae and Million as 3 wide players is a promotion chasing set. With Gallagher, Maaee and another quick striker we would be very competitive. Shame it looks unlikely, SS telling him he needed to move to start games is hard to backtrack from

Apparently, Lee Darnborough identified Tyrese Campbell as a target and had to be told, we'd only just released him.

I think it's best for Tyrese if he goes elsewhere, I wouldn't mind him back though I would've given him a new contract last season if the terms were reasonable. It's a very strange one if he does come back now though!
He's a classy finisher, I think he'll do well at his next club if he starts regularly and given what he's had to go through recently I really hope he's banging them in this season whoever he's playing for (apart from the games against Stoke of course).

When you actually look at his stats over his time with us, both goals and assists, by and large they are way superior to anyone on our books at present, even given his injuries.
