That's probably fair comment, we need a more rounded focal point as a CF and Tyrese needs a fresh challenge.

I understand that, so difficult, especially someone with Tyrese’s attributes and what he’s got. He’s got something that not many in the division have with his electric speed when he’s in full flow. In the last three or four games that Tyrese played he showed the qualities that he’s capable of and the ability that he’s got. “But the reason that we decided on doing what we were doing is that I think Tyrese has been here for a long time and has shown in glimpses over the years the potential that he’s got but probably hasn’t hit the heights of what his potential could be. “For us, it was probably the idea to go and have a fresh start but also for Tyrese because you know he needs to go somewhere where he can play every week, play in a system that suits him every week and have a fresh start where he can maybe fulfil some of that potential that he’s shown. So yeah, it was a tough decision but it was done with the best intentions for all parties. Hopefully it works out for everybody.” I feel like this one could come back and bite us on the arse

Really hope Schumacher is just playing his cards close to his chest and we already have a superior replacement lined up. But going off his words there it does look like we’ve decided to roll the dice on turning up someone better rather than having a definite plan.

But going off his words there it does look like we’ve decided to roll the dice on turning up someone better rather than having a definite plan. I hold no hope that a superior replacement is lined up, simply because anyone better than Campbell will have multiple clubs interested. It's actually a huge gamble to let him go because we might not be able to replace him with a player even of the same standard. I understand the reasoning for letting him go, I personally think it was the wrong call and will be an expensive job to replace.

So, he isn’t very good but we should’ve kept him because we might not get anybody better. Strange.

Granted he may do ok at another club, but for Stoke he has been very off and on. Best of luck to him and I’m not too concerned about him gone.

Honest truth is that we’re not going to progress as a team with Tyrese Campbell in it. Broadly speaking he’s a one goal in four or five games striker, ie about 8 or 9 in a season. Not his fault but his injury record is appalling and by common consent hasn’t been anywhere near the player he was before his most recent serious injury. Loads of people on here have criticised him for being lazy or simply can’t be arsed. Whether this is true or not is open to conjecture but in truth as Schumaker says it’s in both parties best interests for him to restart his career elsewhere.

You did, you said against Norwich. Did you see him against Southampton, Bristol? Yes, very good and probably nothing to do with the fact he’s looking for a new contract either at Stoke or somewhere else. It will be interesting to see where he ends up and how it goes. Pretty much the same as here I suspect, unless he drops down a division.

I think you need 4 strikers? Two maybe starters and two back up?
Surely Campbell as back up was better than Ennis?

Why is there this sudden belief that he’s going to turn into a championship Kylian Mbappe?
Many years have taught us he’s in the Kenwyne Jones mould, has three good games a season and vanishes for the rest if he doesn’t get injured.
He’ll end up at Derby.

How much do you think it will cost to replace him out of interest? not to much but i’d want better , they cost a lot We all want better. Better will cost £7million plus. I personally think to sign someone capable of playing anywhere across the front three thats capable of scoring with his left and right peg will result in a minimum of £4million of the budget gone - and thats just to sign someone of a similar standard. We'll see.

I think you need 4 strikers? Two maybe starters and two back up? Surely Campbell as back up was better than Ennis? Second point is a fair one. Lots of ifs and buts however in that one also. Facts are: it seems we have rolled the dice (a call I personally support) and Ennis is 100% not the solution.

SS is spot on.
And he's just being diplomatic (kind) to Tyrese, with his choice of words.
"He's been here for many years and only ever shown small glimpses of what he's capable of during that time. Therefore hasn't done anywhere near enough to earn a new contract at the club."
A weaker manager would've been swayed by his couple of goals at the end of the season and no doubt offered a new deal. It would have been the easy thing to do.
We move on.

His form at the end helped keep us up imo, which we should expect if he’s as good as some have suggested, but grateful for his contribution in those games. That said he and us shouldn’t be swayed by what has otherwise been disappointing overall.

All commented are fair in isolation (from the Manager and fans on here) but one major stumbling block is likely to be the terms of his last contract and his expectations for his next.
For example if his wages were £20k/week? Then for that is there better out there for less or the same? Think it’s important to consider the contract and not just his potential value.

He leaves on good terms with respectful comments from the manager/club then he has less of a point to prove if/when he plays against us.
As a professional I would expect him to give 100% anyway but without the “pinned to the dressing room door” firing up he is more likely to be his lazy arsed self

It’s all well and good but depends on who we replace him with. I hope we are not depending on whoever thought Ennis was going to be the answer.
It’s fair comment because he clearly needs a particular system to play in and if we are not going to play it, there is no point. We played him in systems that didn’t suit his game too often and that’s why he struggled so many times.

I'm not going to change my opinion to sway with the majority, I would've kept him. Saying that, his best position for me is still off the right and now we have Manhoef so the loss isn't as great as it would've seemed before his arrival in January. Even if Campbell stayed, I would've been looking for another first choice CF to challenge Maaee.
