It was definitely a penalty. It was one of them where the forward falls over the leg, but it *was* in the way, so if Campbell had stayed on his feet he'd have been off balance and the scoring chance would be gone. If that was possible. If it’s not enough to take you down, it’s not a foul. It’s a contact sport. He decided he wanted to go down and took the cheater’s path. Didn’t get anything for it. You tell me how many penalties are enough to knock anyone down,if that was in the Prem penalty all day long.. |

Deserved the win and so glad we did it for ourselves and not rely on other results.
Need to take stock over the summer and learn some serious lessons.
We need to stop getting ourselves in this situation.

Southampton a team of uncreative central midfielders. Put them 1-on-1 with Iverson and they'll find away to get it back to their goalkeeper. Drab possession football. They're basically all the youth prospects from the Prem five years ago, now buggered. A team to make you feel old. |

Relief ,excellent away performance and a nice little run of 7 points from the last 9.
Bizarrely a win next week and we surpass last seasons points total when at Easter last year we still had an outside sniff of the play offs !
I'm not saying Walters has made any difference ( or maybe it was Martin fucking off ) but results since bar the odd horror show have been pretty steady.

I’m not sure that today was a good indication of their ability. They have scored 35 more than us and have won 11 more games as well. They definitely didn’t look that interested in the game. However, Tyrese and Laurent had excellent days pressing from the front. It really threw them off as well. |

I really think we do. Don't break it up by letting good players leave and bringing in below standard replacements. I do hope we sign up at least 2 of Thompson, Stevens and McNally. Seems a bit of a waste of time chasing decent squad players when we already have them in the building. Our very successful escape have lots of reasons, but I can't help but feel that the day Stevens declared himself fit was a major turning point, Whether he has a long future ahead of him is another thing, but just having a natural left foot in defence (and going forward) made a real difference.I'd make keeping him on for another year a top priority. Still we should keep looking for another left back as back up. |
