He is but he’s been very poor the last two games. And unsurprisingly so have we. We need a massive game from him Saturday or we’re in trouble. Mo salah has been shit for a few games as well lately. It happens. Hopefully we have enough players if not all, on it for the next 3

Pearson by every metric this season hasn't shown any attributes, he's been woeful.......... unprofessional joke. Pearson sees what's happening in front of him then sticks out a lazy leg and trips it up Woeful a good description

There's no doubting his potential but our best two performances of the season have happened with him on the bench.
Since we need to plough money into striker and centre back, can we see us cashing in this summer?

Since we need to plough money into striker and centre back, can we see us cashing in this summer? The end of a long season and 2 of the 3 midfielders that started the games you mention are out of contract at Stoke come next Sunday. He's a good player, a little but of patience wouldn't go amiss. Plus he'll owe around 3m on FFP this summer so not sure "cashing in" is an option.

I think that a bit like Bae, the season has caught up with Burger and he’s just dropped off a little. It was him and Bae who dragged us through that patch about half a dozen games ago whilst others hadn’t quite stepped up. So, he’s entitled to be off it a little and it is a squad game these days. He will be fine after a good rest and pre season.

If we make a profit we're in good nick to reinvest. We might even be able to sign a player or two who can score goals.

I haven’t seen a player actually lead through their actions in a stoke shirt since we came down but burger genuinely tried to put the team on his back when nearly everyone else was playing like shit. Granted, at times there was a touch of the Joe Allen’s about it, trying to do everything and ending up making it worse, but mostly he looked like a player you need to build a solid midfield around.

If we can get a big fee, then he has to be sold and the money reinvested. We were spoilt in the prem years where we managed to keep hold of our star players in the main. The likes of Southampton, Brighton and Brentford have to sell them constantly, the trick is in how you replace them. If we sell Burger for £10m+ then we’ve made good profit and that cash can be reinvested on his replacement and is a good chunk in to the centre half and striker fund. It’s simply the way clubs like us have to operate now due to FFP.

Now the season is done I’d like to see him and Sidibe start in midfield on Saturday. I think they are two players that could work very well together and play a big part next season.

It’s simply the way clubs like us have to operate now due to FFP. I don’t think anyone is under any illusions that we have to sell these days. The question really is, what sort of bid would we take? For me, it would need to be over double what we paid (so around 8 million quid plus a bit). We’ve taken the risk on bringing him to England, and if we sell we should we rewarded. If you are talking about accepting 5 or 6 million then I think it’s a false economy to operate that way and I’d rather we hang on and see if we can build a squad around him that could get promoted

We need to build a team around our best players: Burger, Bae, Million. We also need to secure the loanees or get them replaced asap, and have a proper spine to the side

Burger has been on the wrong end of recency bias I feel. Dropped off lately but still at absolute worst our second best player of the season.
Hoping we see big things from him and Bae next season.

It’s simply the way clubs like us have to operate now due to FFP. True, but those clubs rarely if ever sell after a single promising season. That’s not where the real money is. The rewards for backing yourself to develop at least 1 of Bae or Burger further with a second full season are far greater than cashing in on one now. 10 million would be tempting obviously but I just don’t think that sort of number is anywhere near realistic. We’d be lucky to get 5 right now.

Keep all the Dutch players for me including Hoever because they can all play a bit, and they have a good mentality.
No way would we sell Burger now - he will be worth way more in a season and he is Premier League quality - lets hope he gets us there next season.

It’s been a good first season in English football for Burger, but he’s got to learn more discipline. Positionally, he gets pulled all over the place at times, and he’s got far too many bookings leading him to getting suspended at a crucial time.
