It's very hard to say he's our best player because they have all been bad, probably better saying he's not as bad as others would be a fair way of putting it, personally don't think he's that good like others have said he seems to run around in circles the goal threat we all thought he was going to be is not there so if someone offered 5 mill I'd let him go

What's our record with / without him this season?
I think we look better without. And have noticed that since Pearson replaced him and stupidly got sent off..

He apparently had a concussion today due to Iversen punching the back of his head on one of their corners. That explains why he was substituted not why he was so rubbish first half.

I still think a fit Pearson alongside Burger and Bae should be our midfield for next season. ....................Iversen..................... Junior.........New..........New............New ....................Pearson.................... ............Burger..........Bae................. Manhoef...............New...................New Subs; Bonham, Rose, Gooche, Thompson, Sidibe, Mmaee, ........................ Buy Iversen! Two new central defenders! A new first starting 11 left back! A new winger with bags of pace! A new striker: Assante. Offload: Wesley, Clarke, Campbell and Stevens, out of contract! Send back the loanees apart from Iversen: Hoever, Cundle, McNally and Haksa. Try to sell: Laurent, Baker, Vidigal, Wilmot, Ennis and Tezgel! If we can offload all these we really should have some money to spend as well! I honestly feel one of the reasons for our struggles to blend into a unified team fighting for each other is that we brought in so many new players last summer and had no central core of players left over to set the tone. I think we had Wilmot, Thompson, Laurent, Baker, Campbell, Gayle and Bonham there to welcome the new signings and tell them about the ethos and history of the club. Not a great welcoming committee. Only Campbell and Thompson and possibly Wilmot had been here long enough to feel any real affinity with the club. If a lesson is to be learned from last summer it should be not to make so many wholesale changes. Four or five quality additions please.

He's alright. Quite like his attitude, fairly limited ability but respects the shirt so deserves our respect. More than can be said of many out there today.

I really don’t get the Burger love in…he’s bang average…the fact that he occasionally stands out in an awful team masks the fact that he is an average player. You don't watch Stoke very often can be my only conclusion based on that statement No I don’t…I’ve only had a season ticket for 40+ years…I also travel to away games…I rarely miss a match so yeah you are right I don’t watch Stoke much…I still stand by my statement.

Lowe on the other hand has shown he is not up to and never will be up to championship football, in a race between him and me, with me running in a pair of wellies I'd still fancy myself to win. I fear Tezgel will be another promising youngster to never make it, mostly because of all his injuries. If we could get a decent amount of money for him I would sell, yes.

Terrified of a tackle..... shys out of making tackles.... plays at walking pace.... lots of you get lulled by the fact he can pass the ball ten yards..... hes absolutely nowhere near the standard for the requirements of the championship..with his overall game.... its to quick. And to physical.....let's see who wants him when he leaves.... we had the same debate when smallbone went back to Southampton last year. People on here were talking like he was Messi.....he was another who couldn't stand the physicality of the championship.... and he's a sub at saints.... and I can't see him being there next season either.....

Nahhhhhh, he’s shown he’s more than capable on all fronts. He’ll probably still win most of the end of season awards, and hopefully is one we keep for next season and build around him and Junho. He’s only young and in a new environment, unfortunately he’s not played well for the last few games.

I agree though, he seemed to rise to being captain.

And thats what this forum is all about.... different opinions.... I personally don't think hes any better or worse than the rest of the midfielders we have.... I dont see anyone of any calibre rushing to buy any of our players during the summer... I'm sure il be reminded if I'm wrong

He played his best football as the central DM, with two advanced midfielders in front of him.
On paper, Laurent and Baker in front of him should work great, but this is Stoke.

From what I've seen he seems to be chasing everything down and ends up out of position trying to make up for the short coming of others and it's affecting his game.

It's a weird one because he really doesn't fuss me one way or the other. Seems a bit of a jack of all trades master of none and couldn't see him working in a two. Three in the middle with a flashy bastard and an ugly bastard would likely get the most out of him but can't say I've seen anywhere near enough to build a team around him.
Really can't see him being the new Whelan for example and is he roughly on a level with Gleghorn and/or Kav in terms of ability/ standing in terms of our center midfielders over the last 25 years? In fairness to Burger though he hasn't a Wallace or O'Connor to put the graft in so it would be interesting to see how he got on next to a genuine ball winning centre midfielder.

Thats why I'd like to see Pearson get himself fit, don't think he has been all season really, and rehabilitated appreciate the dumb cards issue won't go away

He's only just 23, playing in a shit side in his first season since moving over from the continent. For a lot of the season, he's been very decent. Has suffered a drop in form coinciding with suspensions and injuries.
Of all the issues we have in the squad, he's just about the last on the list.
Got far bigger problems like clown show Ben Pearson having 3 years left on his deal on what I imagine will be very decent wages for a yellow card every game and losing the majority of his tackles/duels in midfield.
