Just a shame he had such physical and by all accounts mental problems when he was here.

When he was at Stoke he could hardly run and he certainly couldn't jump. Has he really "got it back" or is he now playing at a level where his physical size means he can just overpower defences? I am not really sure you can compare pre-injury Wesley with post-injury Wesley anyway. He suffered what in most instances would have been a career ending injury, so has done well to get back to the level he has. |

So it gives you an idea of how bad the second division there is that he can actually be allowed space to move, never mind score. |

He scored two v Norwich for Villa and missed a penalty to make it three. I’m not claiming he was good for us. I’m saying there was a good player in there somewhere and that we used him badly so he didn’t deserve his characterisation as a donkey. |
