The only one would be Pearson surely? The rest are either out of contract, saleable or you’d keep for the squad. Going back to the centre halves as an example as it looked so horrific. Keep Rose for third choice. McNally goes back. Someone would buy Wilmot for 3-500k. Release Clark. It’s what should happen. Midfield Burger and Baker stay Sell Laurent for a few hundred k Let Thompson go Pearson would be a pain in the arse to get rid of for sure. But again, it doesn’t seem too difficult or outlandish? Pearson, Laurent, Wilmot, Baker, Vidigal, Jojic, Mmaee, Johnson, Ennis… the list goes on. Mountains of shite that no one will want to pay for. And then you’d have to replace them. There’d be takers for Laurent and Wilmot for sure. Johnson I forgot about - agreed. And Ennis. Awful signing. The rest I’d keep.

We need to change the structure of the club from the top down, otherwise nothing will change.
We will start the season with a bunch of mediocre players, with no motivation, no competition for places, all the weird and wonderful things that go on in the background and this time next year we will be on our 2nd British no-hoper manager and in the same position we are in now or worse - rinse and repeat, rebuild required etc - said the same for years now and getting boring

I wouldn’t give the current coach any money if cundle and Ennis is anything to go by.

I'm optimistic we don't need another rebuild. 3 or 4 signings in key positions should do it. For me GK - I’d be happy if we made Iverson perm. He’s been much improved the last few games RB - Junior - Bit of a slip in form but can see him coming good CB - Rose / Wilmot - Either are Ok but need an organiser besides them CB - new LB - new (Stevens is too injury prone) DM - Burger DM - New or Laurent if he can be disciplined / Sidibe LW - Manhouf AM - Bae (he’ll be better with a year under his belt) RW - new CF - new (big, good in the air, pacey, weighs in with 10-15 goals Subs - Pearson, Mmaee, Wilmot, 1 x CB, Tezgel, Gooch, Bonham, Vidigal.

I thought Zorba Thomas played well today.
Is he out of contract at the end of the season?

We need to keep the signings down to a minimum and work on players forming relationships and patterns of play with each other this summer. Then in January we can re-evaluate. keep Iversen (on another loan) Bonham Simkin Hoever (another loan) Junior Wilmot Rose New CB (unlikely to be Mcnally due to Burnley relegation) Okagbue Baker New LB Stevens or Gooch New CM Laurent Baker Sidibe Burger Thompson Manhoef Leris Vidigal (sell if reasonable offers, potentially replace with Haks) Junho Ennis Mmaee Lowe Tezgel Bomb: Gooch or Stevens Johnson Wesley Clark Fielding Blondy Pearson But that is a squad that’s in a relegation battle and rightly so. What would change? That CB list is fucking frightening in particular! Since we've been relegated most players have looked better playing for another team than us, for me that's because we've changed too much each season. This seasons performance is down to two managers using different football styles and lots of new players that need to be bedded in. So we get better by: *Reducing the amount of player turnover *Bringing through youth *Keeping hold of the manager *Developing the players *Playing the managers preferred style of football without relegation fears

Let’s put aside the issue that manager is clearly out of his depth, just don’t see how we do well without getting 3 out 4 of the back 4 in. And that’s just the start. We don’t have a CB good enough to be starting games. I just can’t see past needing 6/7 first team signings. Ripping it apart (starting with the owners) is the much more preferable route for me.

I wouldn’t contemplate Haks. Cundle has more to offer. We definitely need a new striker though, Mmaee and Ennis can be useful alongside another; but are not going to get the goals necessary, then send either Lowe or Tezgel out on loan. Bomb squad: Wesley, Johnson, Stevens, Leris, Pearson, Vidigal

New GK/Bonham/ Simkin
Junior/Gooch
New CB/ Rose
New CB/ Wilmot
New LB/ New LB
Burger/ Pearson
Laurent/Thompson
Manhoef/Leris
Junho/Baker
New LW/ Vidigal
New CF/Mmaee/ Ennis
There are plenty of those players Id be happy to sell, but have tried to limit the turnover of players. Even then I still think we need a minimum of 7, with 6 of those being starters. How the hell we're going to manage that on another limited budget I don't know.
I suppose we could offer Stevens another 12 months as the back-up LB? (Not ideal though- we can surely find a cheap/free option to fill that slot?)

Mainly for some continuity as I think changing too much in one window is a big risk. It's also the reason I wouldn't completely clear out the squad, the likes of Thompson, Baker etc.
I think Hoever and McNally have been good enough to warrant another season.
Cundle hasn't been good here so far, but he has in the past under Schumacher and if the manager still trusts him then I'd back him if he wants Cundle here next season.
With a handful of changes I think we can be competitive in this league.

Why continue with shite? I’m not being argumentative either btw. I just don’t get it. Hoever has been abject over two seasons now. But he’s scored 2 in 2 so will be the new Cafu again. Which is fun. McNally is a clustefuck. Cundle is complete nothing player. The loans have been dreadful again bar Iversen. We really have to improve that.

Players like leris, gooch and Thompson are always going to be useful for a championship squad. We just need some real quality in both boxes and we'll be fine - squad isn't too bad just weirdly unbalanced and no goalscorers

It takes time for players to form a bond on and off the pitch, if we're doing wholesale changes in the summer we need to do business early and to give them plenty of opportunity to play together before the season starts - that's rarely the way it goes though and we're usually picking up the scraps as the transfer window closes; trying to patch up the gaping holes in the squad.
Schumacher will have had 6+ months coaching the current squad when the window opens again, whoever we sign in the summer is 6 months behind the current lot in understanding how Schumacher works and what he expects - and even if we sign players early, they'll have ~6 weeks to prepare which isn't a great deal of time, hence the reason for going for something evolutionary rather than revolutionary, changing the majority of the squad again will only set us back and is very risky in my opinion.

They’ve had time with him and he abandoned his principles. That suggests they won’t work?

Tbh I don’t see a world where someone bids what we’d want for either of them? Maybe not Junho, but Burger seems made for this league. If a relegated club wants to go on the kind of parachute payment rampage where Benik Afobe costs £12,000,000 and he wants the move then it would be hard to stand in his way.

I'm optimistic we don't need another rebuild. 3 or 4 signings in key positions should do it. Do what exactly? 😂 Replacing half the first team is quite a rebuild and suggests 0 failures.. So far we have about 70% failure rate, so to turn into 100% success is quite the turn around. Yes like saying we will challenge playoffs next season. It's such a turn around from what all indicators suggest.

We don't need a rebuild, we need maybe 3,/4 new players in. Pearson i'd imagine will be the tough one to shift as already said. Campbell will be gone of course and both are positions we need to improve. The loan players also so room there if none are signed permanently and if course those out of contract .
That leaves plenty of space for new signings.
