I was thinking the other day that we are often shite over Easter. We tend to do much better over Christmas for some reason.

I think this appalling record is partly explained by the fact that we couldn't play home games on Good Friday at the Victoria Ground so almost every Good Friday game throughout our history would have been played away - something to do with the ground being consecrated.
Believe it or not, we were able to score goals and even win the occasional home game a few years ago.

I remember having to work good Fridays and listening to us away at Blackburn a right humdinger of a game see-sawed all the way, ended up losing 4-3.

W 4 D 9 L 26 Anyone know who we beat on those 4 wins and when? We really have some terrible records don't we. We beat Bristol City away under MON. The last win before that was when we almost won the title in 1947. We beat Grimsby 5-2 to kick-start a run of eight wins in nine games, before sodding it up against Sheff U on the last day of the season. The other 2 wins must have been before the war. Truth is Easter Friday games were few and far between before these last few seasons. At some point the EFL reintroduced them but before we were promoted we only played once on a Good Friday in about 35 years. Oh and final tidbit, don't know if anyone noticed but for the last three seasons we've played Bristol City every time on Good Friday.

W 4 D 9 L 26 Anyone know who we beat on those 4 wins and when? We really have some terrible records don't we. It’s amazing, really. We have all of these records and yet have spent almost our entire history in the top two tiers. We must just do very well on non-descript days and in non-descript fixtures 😉

The Easter games I always remember is the 3-1 win at the Baggies(on Easter Saturday) and then winning 2-1 at home to Palace on Easter Monday 2 days later. 3 of the best/quickest mentals I can remember and cut/bruised shins after to show for it

It won't be getting any better this Friday.
For me, Hull are the best side I've seen us play this season. We couldn't even get in the same postcode as them at our place.
Liam Rosenior has done a superb job there, and they've made some shrewd signings. I think they'll make the Play-Offs along with Coventry.
