I wouldn't like to guess how many players in the 18 will be here next season, even assuming we stay up. Iversen- no Rose - maybe McNally - no Wilmot - not guaranteed Hoever - no Laurent - not guaranteed Pearson - not guaranteed Baker - not guaranteed Gooch -yes Bae - hopefully Campbell - no Bonham - probably Thompson - no, as it stands Manhoef - yes Ennis - yes Mmaee - probably not Cundle - no Vidigal - no Haks - no Leris - probably not Wesley - no Johnson - no Stevens - no Burger - hopefully Where the hell are we going to magic-up takers for all these? At least there are a few out of contract - Campbell, Thompson, Stevens, Clark and Wes. Plus getting rid of all the loanees - Iversen, Hoever, McNally, Haks and Cundle. And there are a few who'll be entering their last 12 months - Bonham, Gooch, Wilmot, McCarron, Rose, Baker, Laurent, and Johnson - which could make it easier to maneuver some kind of departure. Trickier with the ones who've got multiple years left like Vidigal, Mmaee and Leris ('26) and Pearson and Jojic ('27) But can't imagine their salaries and remaining value on the books would make it absolutely impossible - even with Pearson, although he'd probably be the hardest. Wouldn't think the rest are on such great deals here to make them unshiftable or loan candidates only, especially if they're disgruntled.

All except Vidigal are the result of panicking that we might not get our no1 targets so just get in numbers which has lead to an oversized, mediocre squad. I've said elsewhere our summer rebuild should have focused on bringing in six or seven quality players to give us a squad of about sixteen hoping that some of our young players and loans would come good. It was an impossible task to try to find and properly research eighteen like we tried.

I think of our current squad we’ll be left with
Bonham Junior Rose Wilmot Pearson Baker Gooch Bae Manhoef Ennis Burger - hopefully Tezgal
Of that group the majority are squad players. Only Burger, Bae and Junior should start with Manhoef and potentially Baker and Rose with a dominent CB.
I just hope that if SS stays he’s backed.
I just wish he’d go to a 4231.
If he does I’d look at something like
GK - New
RB - Junior CB - Rose CB - New dominant man mountain type LB - New
DM - Burger DM - New or Pearson
RW - Million AM - Bae or Baker LW - New
STR - New

And the manager is definitely still a maybe at this stage too! It's never boring - except for on the actual pitch. I see the Plymouth fans have turned on Foster FM so what’s the odds on a Schumacher return in the summer🤔😊 Very poor odds, I'd think. Even if Schuhmacher was let go, which I doubt very much, he's now on wages that Plymouth can't afford to pay. If sacked he could tend to his garden for at least a season at Coates' pleasure - unless he wants to be involved again and is offered terms, which he can negotiate to perhaps resemble what he was getting paid here.

Leris is a decent enough squad player, puts in a good shift, has the right attitude and can play anywhere on the right.
I don't think we've seen the best of him yet.

He needs to learn how to control a football first. The only way we'll see the best of him is if we play a very direct 4-4-2 and his job is to shuttle up and down the right winning headers off goal kicks. He'd have probably been a good pick though yesterday as he'd have at least stopped their left full back charging forward like he had the freedom of Stoke-on-Trent.

And some think the recruitment guru should stay in post. 2 good signings out of 22 and some are letting him off the hook. 22 players and we've got worse. Depends who's signings they were though.

Id get Jojic (sp) on the bench and give him half hour here and there see how he does

Seems to be £34,500 to much. He did get the header to help beat Leeds ….. Now that’s priceless Fair enough; that one goal may have been worth £1.8M.

Vidigal should walk into that team. I'd play him up top instead of Campbell

Wouldn't rule it out! Warnock in 'til the end of the season there - and an emotional return for Schuey trying to get them out of League One again I wouldn’t rule out anything nowadays mate I can imagine Dewsnip and Schumacher having a pint overlooking the Plymouth Sound planning for the new season, laughing themselves stupid over the amount of coin they sucked from us in compensation and payout respectively.

I saw a list of all championship clubs wage bill this morning on FB It’s amazing how far we’ve fallen, I think we’re now about 14th/15th
The players we’ve got now reflect what we’re paying
You pay peanuts you get ……not very good footballers

What next for these guys? All of them have looked useful at certain points but Schumacher seems to have all but spelt the end for them at Stoke. As well as looking useful all have been poor at other times but, again, we are a team of few goals leaving 3 players who could help in that area essentially rotting on the bench. We may as well have Sidibe on the bench in place of one of them. They've probably had an hours worth of football between them since January, which can't help if and when we do need to call on them. What is their situation? Just there to fill the bench a throw on in desperation of kill the game? It can't be much fun being one of those three at the moment. Leris half decent squad player. I think he'll stay. Hak another waste of a loan. Vidigal only cost a few hundred thousand. You'd think a club in Portugal would have him back now for the same barring we haven't stuck him on stupid wages. The rebuild this summer will be as big as the last. Vidigal is on £7,000 per week or £364,000pa His contract expires 30th June 2026 Haksabanovis is on £18,077 per week or £940,000pa His contract expires 31st May 2024 We’re paying Leris £9,000 per week or £468,000pa His contract runs to 30th May 2026

To be fair we signed that many players some them have never played enough to find their feet in a tough league. Lleris is limited but works hard.
I still think there’s a moment in vidigal where he’s pop Up with a goal… he offers more than some.

Is any other club in the division not playing their top scorer?
Fucking madness.
Leris is about the worst transfer of the summer for me. What on Earth were they thinking? A million quid for a bloke who looks like he doesn’t know what a football is.

I shudder at the cumulative cost of our front players. A collective embarrassment to our recruitment and development processes. It is almost impossible to recruit so many Strikers who don’t score goals. I’m expecting Jeremy Beadle to appear on the pitch at half time soon and expose it all as a sick fucking Joke 😂

I have no idea what we have to spend. They need to do better in the loan market this time also. Scary 18 that will be left when the 11 depart.
