Do you follow the national news mostly, the local news, or what's going on in the region? Perhaps even the international global news have captured your interest most of all?
I must say I follow our national news mostly, what's happening to our country. Then as number two the local news and sometimes the news about the city and even the neighbourhood is far more important than the national level.
The news from other countries is absolutely what I follow the least. And the more away from here, the less.

However there are local pod casts and similar that are not bad

CNN and Fox (National). Sky News on TV while I make breakfast in the mornings for the U.K. Once or twice a week, I’ll go on Al-Jazeera for international. I think that the latter is very good for African news and news from the Middle East.
My local news is essentially all about new construction, so I don’t much bother with that.

From about a minute in I imagine this is how the EEB would appear to the outside world.

Most of my news I get from here and from an occasional glimpse of the BBC news or off You tube.
With so much misery about at the moment I look at limiting exposure to the news isn’t such a bad thing.
If I’m honest I’m more interested in the U.K. than overseas too as stuff happening in other countries feels out of my control whereas I can do “my bit” where I live (even if it’s minimal).
I have to say having seen things first hand and the way they’re reported I wouldn’t believe the press. Whether it’s the Mail or the Guardian they all have an agenda.

I saw it in my work where there's a reality that industry doesn't like, so they paid a load of propagandists to lie to the public to trick them. It fucking sucks. The problem of course is working out who to trust! |

There's a little comic that explains my feelings, it's a newsroom where the host says summat like "today we're talking maths, on one side professor X says that 1+1=2, but on the other hand we have a lobbyist who says 1+1=20. This is complicated and the truth must be is in the middle". When I see that used with important real-world stuff it does my nut in.
But most things aren't black and white like that so I hear what you're saying. I try to pump the brakes on being arrogant but it's so hard when everyone else is so fucking wrong all the time still it's important to really listen to and respect people and try not to get too certain without good cause. |

It's weird I can't get my head around learning things from YouTube but I know of several people for whom it's a go to. When Covid struck my daughter's career involving international travel effectively ended overnight. As she realised months later that it wasn't coming back she used YouTube videos to learn a completely new trade from which she now has a profitable business. |
