I’m convinced she’s a robot of some sort and head of the New World Order! I don’t know how else to explain it

There's a modicum of talent imho but nothing close to justifying the colossal media interest and revenues

Both my girls are avowed Swifties and by default I listen to a lot of her stuff. Inoffensive in the main but some absolute bangers and the two folly albums are really good. She seems ,without wanting to sound a twat, a pretty good influence on her legions of fans and she's absolutely enormous right now. For me the jury is out til June 20th as I'm taking girls to see her and I ALWAYS judge any artist on their live show. I'm apparently being given an outfit to wear including a silver mirror ball cowboy hat (wtf) so I promise I won't be posting any pics of that here..look for the hat in Block 33 today lol

In the Swift vein, Gaga is interesting visually but the music much less so but we saw her a few years back and was incredible, played loads of instruments, could sing, dance and held 10k people in thrall. All about the live show !

Hand on heart I could not name one single Taylor Swift song but I have at least heard of her!
What is her biggest/best hit? I'll give it a go and report back.
Just one please, I shan't be listening to more than one!

I guess in the end I'm just too old for this stuff. At heart I'm a Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Steve Earle man, the great singer song writers and I just can't do the frothy pop thing. Although I have huge admiration for ABBA and there thunderous ballads!

Ref Taylor ,with kids loving her like they do,I'm listening to her whether I want to or not, french holiday last year was 2 days driving each way and that was non-stop Swift and well it was painless enough. Told the eldest she's got to come to the Bad Manners Xmas show this year by way of recompense lol

Had a little stint without Sat radio and would just hit seek on the radio to get any station I could pull in.
I would put Ed and Swift in pretty much the same box.
You can listen to it, it’s easy to follow. Quite pleasant and …that’s it.

Oh Travis Kelce Mrs.. Posh and becks of America.
I'm not a fan but she's great at what she does and knows the target audience.
Having said not a fan I've found myself enjoying a couple of tunes in the past!

I'm not having it there's fair amount of talent with Ed Sheeran I just can't get it with Taylor Swift she's bland when put alongside the Miley Cyrus's and Lana del Rey's of this worlds. Songs like Anti Hero are a painful listen....

However as I love and respect ( read tolerate) you all I will endeavour to post some TS pics when I go.. Unless she is clearly consumed with lust when she spots me in the crowd and drags me away to the Wembley Travelodge in which case pray for my wellbeing and I'll be back in the directors box with Coatesy and Taylor so I'll do my best . Buzzing after game today , good effort and hey I'm 50-bloody-4 tomorrow so am entitled to talk bollocks (just for one day, thanks David Bowie)tonight lol

Taylor Swift is an incredible singer songwriter. She just knows how to make No1 songs over and over again. Whether you or I like them or not, she does write her own stuff and she knows what sells.
Her changing into pop after losing a bit of her young country twang was a very good decision. Very clever business lady, as her fight over her right to her own songs proved.

She seems to be a very positive role model for young women.
Trump doesn’t like her.

Selling records and making good music don't necessarily go together. There's absolutely nothing out there by her that's particularly memorable for the right reasons. The lyrics feel contrived just have another listen to anti hero. She's successful, she's incredibly hyped but unlike the Gaga hype there's nothing there.

She's OK but she's no Dua Lipa. I'd honestly put her up there with Madonna in terms of female pop artists. Absolutely love her.

The lyrics feel contrived just have another listen to anti hero. She's successful, she's incredibly hyped but unlike the Gaga hype there's nothing there. Making “good music” is an opinion. My wife likes Taylor Swift and I like a lot of her initial country music. Tim McGraw and Highway Don’t Care are two fun songs. Mostly though, I don’t think she really sings songs for either of us (I may be wrong). Her market audience seems to be young women, adolescents and kids. I would also argue that the only marker that matters is no. of records sold when considering if a track is “good” or not. She’s now a pop singer and they aren’t known for writing epic tails. Yet, TS’s songs sell very well to her audience. She writes much/most of it herself. Her music is typically quite wholesome and she doesn’t need to dance around in pieces of cloth that barely keep her from exposing herself to create a fanbase. Selling songs that aren’t based on sex is kind of refreshing.
