I was 'meandering' the other day, clicked on my own profile, and was amazed that today, 15th Jan 2024, is exactly 20 years since I first signed up to this board from the old Rivals board where I'd been posting for a few years. Anybody else lasted the 'pace'?  OS. |

From memory we came here as a temporary home when Rivals started to go downhill (think they sold it to Sky didnt they?)
We went back, but it was short lived and we came here and have squatted ever since!

I never used the Fenetre board but quite a few of the real 'originals' did. You must have been one of them? I'm not sure how many years I've used the board but I know for a fact that it's at least 25 years, if not more. Me and Markelt were having a giggle recently when he popped in here for a cuppa. We were laughing about my user name. I've only ever used one, this one, and because I was still in my 50's at the time, we were chuckling at how inappropriate it was to call myself 'Oldstokie'. I also had a little chuckle to myself a short while back when somebody on here said "OS is a nice bloke but hasn't got much banter in him." They should have been around when we had the 'Carl thread' and other things. I'm getting too old now for banter. I spend most of my time trying to stay alive.  I also have a little giggle when I see some of the posters on here having a go at you. If they really knew you they wouldn't want to meet you at 'The Sir Stan'. LOL. M. |

Having loads of different clubs fans in the one place, well, I say one place, we all had our own forum within the site but it was much easier to go on little mini invasions of the forum of the team you were playing that week. As someone said higher up the thread though it all went downhill when Sky took it over.

More tortoise than hare these days, but, I continue to limp along. The challenge is to try and think of something I haven't said rather than regurgitate old ideas, so I probably spend a lot more time reading the threads than engaging. Mind you, the reduction in the little grey cells as the years pass by is beginning to make that less of an issue. |

Anybody else lasted the 'pace'? OS. Yes I too signed up on that very day, 15th January 2004 at 1.23pm, so beat you to it by 5 hours! If you click on Members at the top of the screen, and then on the members list page click on Date Registered it puts all the members in the order of the date and time they registered (works on my PC, can't do it on my phone). 15th January 2004 was the very first day, and it appears that after Admin, 33 people beat me to it. Sad but true! |

But I remember the Fenetre days, when I was on Wanadoo dial-up 😄 EDIT - just spotted that Ely is Robbie, who I had the pleasure of meeting at an OBPU 👍 The first time I met Robbie was at Swindon away (god knows what year), he was sitting next to me (didn't know him from Adam) and he was going mental at EVERYTHING ... the ref, their players, our players, he was proper, proper angry and I was thinking, blimey, this bloke needs to calm down or he's going to end up having a heart attack! Anyhow, we ended up chatting and it quickly became apparent, that although we had never met, we knew each other through the messageboard! Been pals ever since ... top bloke! |

The Proboards forum was set up in 2004 when there were problems with the Rivals servers. We migrated back here a few times over the next three or four years and moved to Proboards permanently in December 2007 (the night of Sheffield United away in the promotion season).
