Is this place still funded by Smudge with some of his Oatcake millions loose change? Well over 20 years ago now but the best conversation I ever heard on an away coach came from two young supporters trying to calculate how much money The Oatcake made. Something along the lines of 14000 (average attendance) x 80p (per issue) x 23 league games a season = £257,000 a year not including cup games x 10(? however many years it had been running at the time) = £2,576,000 in the bank.

Then we got into the Premier League with crowds of 27,000 and charged two quid an issue.

What happened on the weird day in 2007 where Rivals decided to totally overhaul their entire system, erasing all past posts and leaving a peculiar hollow shell of a messageboard system behind? It seemed to come totally out of the blue with the only warning being a post on another team's board. It also killed Rivals stone dead by the end of that week.

Corks you're right OS, my start: Jan 18, 2004 at 6:36pm After rivals went down for the first time. I think we gave it a further go, but this just seemed much better and Rivals was given the boot.

Yeah but there's still a fair amount of overheads to take off and paying for those tax accountants isn't going to be cheap

A slight flaw, not all of those 14,000 bought the magazine, probably only a small percentage did.

We did consider leaning over the seats and telling them this but didn't want to spoil the entertainment In hindsight I should have chipped in with a "Smudge also rakes in £5000 for every Radio Stoke interview"

The glory days. Funnier and far, far less toxic.

Did those kids add in the massive profits from 'With Chayze'? I did hear on the 'grapevine' that Smudge and Dave spent a month in Disneyland in the US after that was published... AND they took GD and Bonkolina with them! OS.
