You need to take risks. Sick of us playing safe and getting nowhere - it's the reason we can't break teams down. Our players are slow. Our passing is slow. I've no problem with players giving the ball away when taking risks, as long as it's not too often. He needs to find a better balance, and running around like a headless chicken no doubt affects his ability on the ball. I think he could dictate things if he wasn't all over the place positionally. Better movement and repeated patterns of play would help. Hopefully Schumacher and the coaching staff can get it going because so far it looks as though they just turn up on the day. We've spent the whole season worrying about the opposition, and I'm sick of it. Agree that you need to take risks but you need to do so in the right areas. Burger gets caught in possession constantly, reacts too slowly when he is dispossessed and doesn't tackle well. Not a great set of skills for a DM I think he has all the qualities to be a holding midfielder. I agree with what you say but I think a lot of that is how he has been used in our underperforming side so far. I would have no qualms with Thompson being there, I just think Burger has the potential to be better than both him and Pearson, who's also been disappointing. Maybe Saturday isn't the time to find out.

Anyone else nervous? Absolutely desperate for a win. Sick of the damp 'squid' new manager bounce. Squib.

Bonham Tchamadeu McNally Rose Gooch Laurent Burger Leris Junho Vidigal Wesley I'd actually give big Wes a start after Mmaee's recent offerings. I can see the thinking I just don’t think Wes is mobile enough I just think if we get our 2 wider forwards up along side him and get a few more balls into the box we might score a few more goals. Mmaee for me isn't physically strong enough to handle CB's at this level.

I was chatting to a West Brom at work today and they weren't impressed how easily M'waee kept going down so easily. He got a decent physique yet seems incapable of using it effectively. Way too lightweight.

Yep, starting to think that.. If he is getting muscled out then fair enough, but he’s intentionally going down with minimal contact on occasions then just sits there waiting for the whistle and if it isn’t coming, carries on sitting there whilst play has broken down. I really hope something can work with him as he seems a reasonable finisher, but he sure as hell isn’t a lone striker to hold the ball up and play with his back to goal.

Trouble is it was quite an expensive punt, probably one we couldn't afford to get wrong 😔

He's played 3.4.2.1. last season and we've played it in the last 2 games. He's only had 3 days with the players so I wouldn't be surprised if he stuck with it in this game.

I wonder if there are any young players from the under 21's who might be promoted to fit his ethos of playing?

Ricky's first game in complete charge.
I only partly joke, I mean he has told us he will be choosing the new players in January and he rocked up on the pre-match press conference yesterday.
Anyway, it could not be a more winnable game, let's hope for a good start.

Three major advantages Millwall have had over us recently. They have shown to be stronger we've been consistently outmuscled. Fast in transition especially from defence and on the break. Really good at set pieces in the final third.
Let's be honest we are still weaker and our defence isn't going to suddenly be better at organising set pieces.
To me our front three are key tomorrow. We need to press high, win second ball and get our noses in front. Let's keep fingers crossed our defence and GK have a blinder. The team needs to reflect that.

4-0
Women and Men throwing their underwear at Schumacher while screaming in similar vain to Beatlemania at full time.
My dad in his 70s turning to me in our seats saying he loves me with a tear in his eye while grasping my hand.
Tomorrow at full time when the fans, players, manager and club become one. We go on an unbeaten run and finish the season 4th with a 3-2 win in the final of the playoffs.
Hundreds of thousands including some from Plymouth turn up for the open top bus parade around Trentham just to see the new Messiah, all the while fishlovesoatcakes is getting hammered on 20/20 and Prosecco on the bus.

What’s his preferred formation? He seems to prefer a 433 formation going by plymouths games this season! Yes, but his last three games with Plymouth he reverted to the same back three formation that won him the title last season, 3-4-3. He could decide to do the same for us with McNally, Rose, and Clark as CBs (especially as Clark is left-footed). Personally I think 3-4-2-1 would work better for us - two No. 10s out of Vidigal, Bae or Hakšabanović (if fit) to overlap and support Mmaee up front as a false 9 (which I think is his best position). However, I think he'll go with a back four as he'll want to utilize Léris's work rate on the left and put Ty on the right. Whether it's 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, I hope he finds room for Bae in the starting line-up.

Exactly Obviously it's the same players atm and probably daft to look too much at what formation for the first few games but looking for some energy in the team Genuinely expecting a better game

The tempo thing wont be able to change overnight.
I dont think we should get our hopes up for a completely different kind of performance.

I want to see some hard running and plenty of willingness to get stuck in.

I know he's got a reputation for being an attacking manager, but Hoever in a back three is taking it too far! We dont have many cbs i was just thinking pace. Hes played there before. But yeah he wouldnt be my first choice there clearly either but clark or who else. From Schumacher's comments on getting forwards quickly, taking risks and passing forward that he will like Hoever who also wins most of his personal battles. He will work on Hoever's positioning and defensive decisions but he will like his play in possession and that he closes, space quickly.

I wonder if there are any young players from the under 21's who might be promoted to fit his ethos of playing? Apart from Wright Phillips who isn't really young, I can't think of any who will realistically make the squad tomorrow when he will want to watch how the senior professionals adapt to his game plan and rules.

Can't see where a win is coming from at the moment, a 1-1 would be optimistic.
