Will be interesting to see how they play this. Another big fight and win before the homecoming and this becomes an even bigger event. Another big fight and a loss and the opportunity to fight at the Bet365 dissapears. I hope that he holds off and that his next fight is at the Bet365. He's a top bloke and deserves everything that he gets.. The gap between his last two fight were 7 months and 6 months which ties in for around May /June. Perfect timing for the Homecoming event. The pitch gets pulled up first week of June so it'll be that first week I guess.

Yep - often see him just walking along, usually after a game, heading away from the ground towards the car parks - although a couple of weeks ago he was sat in the Tile Mountain Stand. Very humble, no entourage/hangers-on - you wouldn't know him from Adam and very few people seem to give him a second glance (even though I usually nudge my lad and go "Psst - isn't that Nathan Heaney?").
I think the days of being able to ask him for a selfie/autograph unhindered might be numbered now his profile's been raised.
I think it's a safe bet he'll be on the pitch with the belt on Saturday. Isn't his PR handled by Prem Management (Jonty's employer)?

I do believe that he's looked after by Steve Buxton and PREM Management, that's right.

A couple of times I've had a passing chat and photo with him & my daughters, he's always got time for fans who recognise him. I find it quite strange when he walks past & folk don't recognise him, but to be fair he doesn't look the 'Man Mountain' you'd imagine him to be in the flesh, he just kind of blends in as one of us which is quite apt really. He's clearly well built underneath his match day attire but he doesn't seem as tall or stocky as he appears on the TV in the ring! Someone would certainly make a huge mistake if they didn't know him & tried to mess with him that's for sure 😉🤣 It definitely comes across that Nathan is a true Stokie through and through & you just know he fights hard in these bouts for the fans who adore him, aswell as for himself and his family. Personally delivering tickets to fans pre fight is a great touch aswell, it can most definitely be said that Nathan Is 'One Of Our Own' & whilst Stoke may not reach the glitch & glamour of other big cities like London, Manchester & Birmingham for producing sports stars, Nathan has certainly now reached the heights of becoming one of Staffordshires great sporting talents. ⚪️🔴⚪️🔴

Again, he didn't look particularly well built , just solid and what a nice fella. Called everyone, Sir

I saw him at the home game he was interviewed at half time (Sunderland?) walking away from the ground and he completely blended in. I was expecting him to be way bigger.

Completely unrelated to Nathan.
Got off the London train at Stoke Station and went across to the North Stafford for a pint one night in the late 70’s and stood next to a guy, about the same build as myself, average!!. I thought I know you from somewhere? couldn’t place him at first…….then it dawned on me.
It was John Conteh 😂😂😂😂😂. Quiet and unassuming guy

He sits near us in the south stand just to the right of the score board, when not in training he's always there, we've had a few songs at him in the past.

Quiet and unassuming guy John Conteh was the first autograph I remember getting that wasn't footie related. Strangely enough it was at an Iron Maiden gig at the Viccy Hall. He was sat a couple of seats in front of me on the balcony - apparently (allegedly) he was mates with the support band (Waysted) and was well into it. So I now have a World Slavery Tour programme with Conteh's signature on the back tucked away in a loft

You could see the disappointment on the faces of the so-called experts afterwards. They were saying before the fight that he would last no more than 2 rounds. His promoter didn't look too pleased either, when Nathan asked him for a fight at the bet365. None of them had bargained for his win. They thought that it was a warm-up for his opponent, for his next title fight. Nathan will have a hard job on his hands to get a fight here in Stoke.

He's just been on Radio Stoke, between 8:20-8:40. Very emotional! Don't know if you can listen again? I'm sure bet365 could make it happen if they want to, a fight at the Brit/bet! I really hope it happens and he makes a packet!

A rendition of “Nathan Heaney, he’s one of our own” at the game on Saturday would be nice, you’d think. I should imagine they’ll probably have him on the pitch at half time.
If there’s any chance of a fight at the Bet365 I’m definitely there. Not a big boxing fan, but followed his progress like a lot have since his rise through the ranks.

Fantastic fight, he was never going to hurt Denzel but what he did do was stop him from landing that big right, kept him at arms length and landed the jabs and combos when needed. Not an underdog anymore ! Great fight but disagree about “never” going to hurt his opponent. He has it in him. Just needed to believe he could hurt him. The game plan paid dividends though. 👍

It's a completely different level but it was similar to the media around Jeff Lacy & Joe Calzaghe. That should never have been considered an upset but given the hype Lacy was given it felt like it afterwards. Nathan didn't exactly school Bentley in the same way Lacy was but his performance broke him down to the point where he was the fighter made to look limited.
