Surely not. I have no idea of the interactives of FFP and PL rules but a further Points reduction following their spirited recovery (so far) must surely be against all football fans sense of fair play and injustice, which could have major repercussions throughout the game.

To be honest I have zero sympathy for them when we are worrying about spending a couple of million on a striker because of FFP. A few years in the hell hole of the championship will teach them some humility

Everton were expecting this .. as it’s the 2023 aspect of their case .. which is one of the reasons why they feel aggrieved at the size of the earlier punishment ..and just importantly how the points deduction was calculated ..in effect if they failed that , they’d likely fail this ..though it remains to be seen if they are charged , then what any punishment will be and how that punishment will also be calculated , not least when the findings of Everton case says they didn’t sought to gain an unfair advantage .. what’s the punishment if they had
And given that they expect to do transfer business this window ..in and out
Tho it does beg the question why with Man City facing a reported 115 breaches / charges .. and therefore presumably an even more complicated and contested case , then why haven’t at least some of those charges already reached conclusion
Unfortunately although fans can be blamed a little for constantly expecting / demanding new and more costly players each transfer window to try to compete with their more commercially / financially abled rivals .. it’s a bit like a kid asking for new and expensive toys , clothes all the time just because their friends with richer parents have them ..it’s up to the parents , club owners / CEO to say no
Personally I’m inclined to take the view the size of debt ( loss ) shouldn’t be the punisher ..but rather if you fail to service that debt both inside and outside football as agreed .

If it's over a 3 year period and Forest have only been in Premier League since last year I don't understand how they can face charges?
While they heavily spent last season they could potentially recoup the money over the course of remaining 2 years to put them under 105 million threshold.
At what point will this threshold be risen given the ever growing Transfer fees caused the the big spending 'top clubs'. Had transfer fees not been so high then these clubs may not have been facing any charges.

It’s that much of a farce they’ll probably get an additional 6 point deduction today, then get their original 10 point deduction reduced to 4 on appeal…..

Man City will simply spend millions of pounds delaying their cases through countless appeals, counter appeals and questions.

Not sure about the rights or wrongs about more points being deducted for Everton. But please. Let it be true 👍

There’s rumours that Man City’s have agreed for their case to be heard and decided upon after August , when a rule change is reportedly to come into operation that will nullify their charges

It’s being discussed in the mainstream media now (BBC) now. Looks more likely than not now that there is something in it.

If clubs have breached the rules then they deserve to be punished accordingly.
There may be many flaws to them but they're informed well in advance and know full well what they involve.
It's not fair on the vast majority of clubs that have no issues in falling below the threshold - see Brighton and Bournemouth in particular.

What an absolute farce. Yet we and many other clubs are in a financial straightjacket and are consequently unable to spend what we want, which would presumably still be a fraction of what Citeh and Chelsea have done.

Premier clubs had to submit their FFP accounts by Dec 31 as far as I understand .. it’s why as far as I’ve been able to understand and follow up here Everton expected to fail back in October ..today is supposedly D day when clubs are informed .. it’s no surprise to them or their fans The way penalties are decided upon seems to be one of the main conventions ..having moved from fines see brighton and Bournemouth to effectively relegation threatening sized point deductions

As with Villa a few years back it was so important for them to get promoted or they'd have had a hefty points deduction from the EFL. It's why some clubs break EFL rules in the hope they'll avoid punishment by getting promoted to the Premier where they are allowed to make a much bigger loss. If Forest overspent enough in those two seasons to not even comply with Premier rules then they deserve what they get.

I always assumed that the punishments handed out by Premier League and EFL were solely dependent on the league they were in. As said above the whole thing is a farce anyway given the ever rising costs of transfers and salaries.
