He just loves Hoever, won't drop him He dropped him on Tuesday not from the squad, couldn't bring himself to do it the obvious choice is Junior with Gooch on the bench, he cant resits picking Hoever either in the team or ion the bench > possibly its a condition of the loan? just play Junior |

Laughable, to claim that Hoever , Clark and Stevens were picked ahead of junior on merit. Clark , more match sharp , and up to speed than a 19 year old just back from playing two internationals ? No way , I am not buying it. And Hoever does not have the mentality of a Lee Dixon or an Andy Wilkinson. He doesn't think like a RB . He is not a RB . Hoever is a poor man's (as skint as can be!) TAA. Without the bracketed cheap shot you’re right he’s a championship level version of TAA who may or may not progress higher. You’re either a risk taker or you aren’t TAA is one of the most productive FB’s in recent premier league history. From that position his output is exceptional why try to convert him to a position from where his output will in all likelihood be ordinary? |

I haven't seen enough of Junior yet to know if he will be any better but I have seen enough of Hoever to know he us bang out of form. |

We purchased junior for 1.5mil, Hoever is on loan and been a liability for 80% of this season.
Surely… develop what we have actually purchased
Junior did nothing wrong to get dropped, he finding his way and he was solid when played.

We don't want any of this youth, pace and power at Stoke City Football Club. Tried and tested is the way. They may be shit but at least you know what you're going to get with them. What performances were those? against Southampton at home I think he played rb,lb and cb and was excellent. Can’t believe he hasn’t been seen much since. Give me him over the geriatric Irishman or the useless yank from Sunderland any day of the week |

He's looked very good in the games he's played and not out of place at all. He's already playing for his country which begs the question why in the world he can't get in our team ahead of Hoever. It's things like this that make me wonder whether AN wants the sack and payoff.

Exactly the same happened with Jun-ho who I've noticed is starting to get a fair amount of criticism now he's starting regularly. I wouldn't bet against the same thing happening with Tchamadeu if and when he breaks into the team. |

Just wondering how a back 4 of
Junior McNally Gooch/Stevens Thompson would workout?
Thompson the only player this season to look anywhere near competent at leftback.

He didn't have a good game, but was excellent at QPR once we change manager, depending on who it is of course, the mood should lighten I thought he was pretty good, except for the balloon shot. Worked hard, ran around a lot, switched positions all over the front 4. Missed a few passes, but you can see he's expecting the players around him to actually meet the ball or move in anticipation, but they're not up for it. |

Definitely not a CB. due to injuries Sunderland played Gooch at CB in the play offs & lost courtesy of two gaols from set pieces wouldn't play him at CB but he can play in at least 4 positions, handy sub, squad player > we need those Stevens should be able to play CB in a back 4 neither should be be first choice first team players |
