I know people have a major hard on for Hoever on this board but we have stick with this kid. He's clearly got the raw attributes to be more than good enough at this level. I feel like he was asked to do things very alien to him last season, I think in time all that will come. Stick to the basics for now and he'll be a more solid RB than Hoever for me. Has the potential to be a bery dynamic right back for the next 5+ years. He is good enough to play in the championship already and he is a better defender than hoever. Junior is undoubtedly a great athlete with a good attitude and plenty of potential. However, to date he has not shown much in terms of positional sense or overall game reading. Hopefully this season he will show improvement but I am not banking on it.

Stick to the basics for now and he'll be a more solid RB than Hoever for me, especially now we have Bocat on the left, it's not as necessary to have a flying RB at all times. Definitely. You saw Stevens committing less frequently last few games of the season whilst Hoever bombed on. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the responsibilities flipped to the other side of the pitch this season and that’d be helpful for Junior. Mistakes will happen, but hopefully his athleticism will help him to get himself out of trouble a bit.

Whilst he’s still inverting it was no where near as aggressive last night. He has all the physical attributes. But is clearly nowhere near as technical as Hoever.

Not a direct comparison, but Walker at City often compensate for his positional weaknesses with pace and power. I really like what I see from Tchamadeu when one on one defensively, I like his aggression and I like his pace which I think is needed for a fullback in today's football.

Hell make me laugh this season that's for sure.
Last night a sublime nutmeg, drives forward and then.....slices the ball 20 yards wide

But once you came to the realisation re Carruthers his comedy value was second to none

Reminds me of an over excitable puppy when he’s on the pitch. He’s still young nowhere near the finished article but has good potential. People just need to be patient with him he’ll have some great games and some bad games. Just need to keep off his back when he has a bit of a bad spell.
