With the possibility of seeing Hoever again hovering in the background, do we think he's shown enough to be inked in as the main starter at RB next season? Still only 20, and only 900 minutes in the tank this season. Definitely promising, but maybe not seen quite enough to hang your hat on so far to go in with him and Gooch as the options there? Tchamadeu is thought of very highly here and is enjoying his time at the club. From what I've been told, he will be our starting right back next season.

Rb is the absolute last position we should be spending money on this summer

I agree with Hackett here, RB we have plenty of cover, he's our player, much as I like Hoever, we have more pressing starting places up for grabs.

What is the end point with Hoever? 1)He signed a new contract before his second loan. Wolves’ owner stated that the Championship is “the best development league” for PL talent when discussing this loan. 2) He cost Wolves £9 million. 3) His loan fee will only keep increasing. Why continue to develop someone else’s player and let our own become less and less valuable? Play Junior as a traditional fullback that overlaps Million. He looked good doing this before Cameroon and shit playing SS’ moronic inverted fullback nonsense post January. Is the difference between Hoever and Junior that great that it will be the decider for playoffs or relegation? I don’t think so. Then Hoever is a waste of a loan and a shortsighted option. The obvious money making strategy is to buy an experienced right back to cover and teach him. Then, let him grow. Do the opposite for left back and bring in a competent central defender around the age of 26-29. All of a sudden, defense issues are solved for the foreseeable future. Fuck loans.

Blimey, I was about to look that up, did we really only get 10 games worth of meaningful action out of Tchamadeu all season? There was the Africa Nations and the injury of course. He is certainly a big physical presence, I just have not seen enough of him to deduce if he is any good at football or not.

He’s a 20 year old lad who made the leap up from L2, had an injury and when he came back from it Hoever was in the form of his life. Tchamadeu was really good when he played. We should be excited.

I'm not so sure, when he came here I thought so but of late I've felt he is still very raw and lacks composure and awareness at times and drifts out of position as he did when he came on as sub against Bristol City. It's a tough call but at the moment I'd prefer Hoever (I didn't think I would say this a few months ago) there if the price was right. Gooch doesn't do it for me, lots of energy but can be a bit of a headless chicken and doesn't get his head up to look for options and I don't think he particularly links well with the wingers. It's all about combinations and I think Hoever and Manhouf have built a pretty good combination recently. In the end of the day it will be about where we want to prioritise what we spend this summer and for that reason I suspect we'll be seeing Tchamadeu at right back.

He’s looked particularly clumsy since returning from AFCON in the few games he’s been involved in seems to have developed a very heavy touch whilst there both when controlling and distributing the ball. Needs a lot of polishing and even then I don’t think he’ll ever be anywhere near the level of technical ability that Hoever has. There are obviously some trade offs re physicality but imo they don’t compensate without lots of improvement on touch and delivery. People saying he’s a better player are kidding themselves.

I don’t think he’s a better player tbf. I would prefer Hoever. I just think JT is good enough to mitigate the need to spend what it would take to get Hoever and I think he has great potential. He was genuinely very good before AFCON and I don’t remember him being as bad as you do since he came back, though I’ll cede to your judgement there.

I wouldn’t spend more than £2/3M on Hoever but I think if you can get him for that he’s an absolute no brainer. I don’t really see Gooch or Leris as viable competition for RB or any other position tbh they’re squad fillers. If they’re starting regularly in any position I’ll think we’ve had a very bad Summer.

Jury still out for me, surprised to see him listed as a top player when we haven't seen anywhere near as much of him as we should.
Hopefully he sorts his injury out and can compete for a starting place next season. Not sure he's at the level required to be a play-off pushing team though.

I thought he was excellent defensively when he came into the team, and had the power to drive forward but he needs to get much better with the ball. If it is him for Hoever next season then I think you’ll see how much better Hoever is/was at getting forward.
Definitely a good defender and only very young, but think there’s some work to do there. A bit in the Wan Bissaka mould maybe.

Get him fully fit and more polished and there’s no reason he can’t hit the ground running in August. We can’t justify a Hoever return with so many other positions to consider. I’m all for Stevens staying but as back up for a first choice. He could help out for a season I think. Keeper, left back, centre back and striker the first four on the list. I’d like to reduce the number of loans but it’ll depend on who we let go. In all of those four positions we need to add some steel and physicality as it’s a massive missing element for us at present.

all 3 positions are important The other two are important but striker, especially now we've got rid of the only one we had worthy of the name, is absolutely vital. If we don't address our chronic lack of goals we will continue to struggle.

Which is the real Hoever? The one that has been playing since the Middlesbrough home game, or the awful accident waiting to happen that was here for two thirds of the season? It was the same last year. I’d be wary of spending more than a million on someone who has been so wildly inconsistent; alternatively you can see that there is genuine talent ther- can Schumacher and the training team get it on display regularly?

How dare he con us by scoring and creating goals as well as being part of an increasingly tight defence 😮 why act as if the last 1/4 of the season is irrelevant? He was an important player for us at a crucial time.

We can expect the pattern to happen again next season if he signs. One good month and the rest not up to scratch. 🤦♂️

He was an important player for us at a crucial time. But he wasn’t an important player during the most crucial time when we freefalled into the bottom three, I.E when we needed him to be an important player, that’s the point. We wouldn’t have needed SuperHoever if his lapses in concentration didn’t help to contribute to our worst run of form in the season. I don’t want to see him back here, he goes with my best wishes but we will be in the same situation next season when he hits the inevitable lull from October to March.

Will be interesting to see how Junior develops over the next 12 months.
He’s a defensive version of Akinbiyi based on what I’ve seen to date. All brawn, no brain.
Be interesting to see if Schumacher can convert the athlete into a footballer
