Don't see the attraction myself! To be honest can see your point, not really my thing but they seem popular enough and no harm to those who don't want to go. Nice to see them doing something new though and seems to be plenty of interest in it And as a result takes the pressure off the indoor concourses so pleases those who aren't interested in using it. So win all round. Not my cup of tea but I can see the attraction for the 'youngster' So I#m all for it.

If early a pint but plenty do and and half time also. Only there for a couple of hours or so in my case and plenty of time afterwards how I see it . Nothing to do with prices or whatever on offer, just don't bother. Will get there a bit earlier and check it out of course when up and running. Like the idea and no harm in new ideas etc

I'm really liking the idea that it will have independent retailers in there. That will be good for different choices for fans but also great for local businesses, and possibly even start ups too.
Hoping they get local bands on the stage too at different points of the season.
If it's done right it will turn people's opinions of those that don't see the point of them. When I went to the Man City one years ago I was also of that opinion and was blown away. The plans for this one look just as good as that one, and in terms of independent retailers, one step above.

This is what I was going on about up thread in a cack handed way. If the club was run by (say) a Richard Branson/Alan Sugar type they'd be asking what business are we in? Football? No, entertainment. They need to compete on Saturday afternoons with family activities, on Tuesday nights with local attractions in summer or plain apathy in winter. Not suggesting it develops in to the Stoke O2 arena (not enough space) but broaden the offering beyond football. Which by the sounds of the new COO is getting on his to do list. (I'm sure a dog training/agility class would have a decent uptake )

The fee he was charged for a permit to trade there was eye watering. He had to double or even treble his usual prices just to make a profit and in years when it rained he would usually end up out of pocket.

My other half had a stand at the Nantwich food festival and yep, you have to cover the cost by upping prices. I imagine the prices there are not on par with a football ground and limited time also on a match day I remember a fella years ago at Bramhall lane wandering around selling ready made sandwiches from a cool bag, thought he had the right idea . I he sold 50 and made £50 profit it paid for his day out at the game. He was having no problem shifting them , in fact we bought a couple and ate them in the car before the game.

I’d the club charge extortionate rent then the retailer has to pass on the charge to the customer.

Slightly off topic, Sunderland friends today asking why the corners of the ground not filled in so i showed them a photo of the ground if filled in,I got to agree it would look good,if any wants to see just look at Derby ground from air, with road access to both ends instead of a fan area which would hardly get used

Having the detached main stand makes our ground a bit more unique than the other ones. Besides, we don’t need any more seats (yet)

Maybe fill the bloody corners in as well whilst they've got builders on site.

I’d the club charge extortionate rent then the retailer has to pass on the charge to the customer. In 2006, the cost of a pitch at the Isle of Wight Festival was £3000 plus VAT PER DAY. God alone knows what it is now. True story.
