Will be known as Claire Voyant. From the link to the official site: Clark joins after helping Sheffield United to promotion in 23/24. Wonder if he can do the same for us too?

Those quotes from Martin are the most ridiculous thing I have read in a long time. That bloke is an utter tool. Cultural architects 😆 🤣 warra tool Hes David Brent on acid. In pre-season he said he's got all the players on a wall chart listed under their categories. It's middle management messing of the most sickening levels. Imagine walking in for a meeting and seeing a selfie of yourself listed under 1 non-football related term. It's fucking pathetic.

In the circumstances I can't really complain about signing him. Even if he can just be fit for 4 or 5 games whilst wilmot is out it would be a massive help. His injury record speaks for itself but we need an extra body in the building at the end of the day. We must have caved to his wage demands because of how desperate the defensive numbers have become. If he finds his best form and stays fit it could be a wicked signing, who knows? I think we had no choice but to cave in to his wage demands. We are so short of defensive cover that we had to get another body into the building as soon as possible. The problem, obviously, is how quickly he can get up to speed. There is definitely a difference between being 'fit' and 'match fit' ... he will need some games over the international break because he will probably be straight into the starting line up!

Every football club categorise players in this way - it helps to make sure that you have a balanced squad. 'Cultural Architect' is just the idea that you are a leader who sets an example. However, it is very bizarre to see Tricky Ricky coming out with this in public. I am not quite sure who it is meant to impress.

Great signing and with experience. Look what people said about Enda Stevens and look how we have missed him over recent matches. Hopefully he will be back for the next game so we have a solid backline.

I can't help thinking there is something 'relegation season' about this signing.
There will be a thread on here in 10 years time...
'Who was that clapped out Irish defender we signed the year we went down to Division 3?' 'Ciaran Clark' 'He never played for us?' 'Yes, yes he did, look it up', played 3 times' 'His legs had gone though. That Tricky Ricky bloke called him a 'cultural architect'' 'Bloody hell, 'Tricky Ricky', that's a blast from the past, he was as mad as a box of frogs, what happened to him I wonder?'

Same as Neil its just a vanity show. Youngster, seasoned Pro? Model professional. Its the same shit. In our league there is one figure that matters and that's resale value

Resale value is irrelevant. The team that takes you up, isn't the one that would play in the Prem. You need to build again there in most positions

He's a CB and we need about 3 of those right now the way I see it, given the number of matches and injuries. Hopefully he's fit.
I don't get worked up with, "cultural architect," to me it's just a modernized term for "Character player," no more, no less. These types are considered parts of a more balanced squad. (which we haven't had for several years) I think they're trying to find "leader-types" of players, at least I hope they are because it's an obvious missing component to most of us right now.

Desperation signing, we are in trouble and will sign anyone who will come. Seems like a repeat of the Paul Lambert signing we are desperate. The question is its October why has he not found a club if he is a much valuable commodity. Then again what have we got to lose.

We need a mix if all kinds. Whilst some of what he's presenting here, may come across as a bit cheesy, the principles are solid enough. He's organised and methodical. It doesn't guarantee he's any good though, only time will tell.

It'll be interesting to see if he leapfrogs Michael Rose in the pecking order and we see him as McNally's partner, at least up until Christmas.
Got to assume we probably do having seen Rose.
If he stays fit he may do a decent job. The Sheff Utd fans seemed to quite like him when he was available.
It's quite rare to see someone of that age playing every week at this level, but it does happen. Erik Pieters is still doing quite well at West Brom, McFadzean at Cov is ancient.
As we've seen with Enda Stevens, though, once you start getting muscle injuries at that age, sometimes it's hard to stop the tide. Especially after having a 6-month break from the game

One can only hope he’s out Gerry taggart or vince over don signing surely Neil’s last throw of the dice unless he can find a Alan Hudson in bill aspreys miracle or a Mike Sheron for Lou in the next 10 days in the free agent market .still think he will be gone by sheer pressure of results around the 28th oct but Clarke could add value regardless

Hopefully he will be back for the next game so we have a solid backline. People suggested his legs have gone and that he was no better than Fox Clearly they haven't and imho he's miles better than Fox However they also said he's been injury prone and that's been borne out already Clark has decent pedigree, left sided too but again he's been injury prone Needs must signing why wasn't it done weeks ago/just after deadline?

What is the talk about his wage demands? Have I missed something?
He hasn't earned anything since May, and by mid October he still hadn't got a team, he wasn't exactly in a position to be too demanding?

Well he's left footed...my main concern is he's fit enough to contribute but the break will give him time to integrate. Fingers crossed it's going to be positive. Experienced player so integrating shouldn't be an issue unless Neil plays him on the left wing as an 89th min sub Probably thinks he’s better cutting in from the right 😂
