We’re cursed mate lindsay, who I thought was shit for us, seems to be doing alright at Preston It’s not a curse it’s shit owners who can’t employ good managers. So they are not shit CBs then, it's down to a shit manager. Make your mind up.

They’re shite too. He’s really not. He’s meant to be our premier defender and he’s absolute gash. He’s a massive problem. A centre half that needs an organiser by him is a sure admission you’re on about a shit centre half. You’re going way over the top on Wilmot. He’s not perfect but he’s not terrible. The best of the bunch tonight. He’s not absolutely gash. He's weak in the air defensively, his positioning is so so, his passing is massively overrated and he makes a mistake every game, you can't fully trust him, fine as back up but he's been a mainstay in a pretty poor defence for some time, he needs replacing.

What I don’t understand is the Coventry fans were raving about McNally. A Coventry team that were very good last season. On paper I thought he looked a great signing. Rose was a free transfer who is ok as back up in the championship. I agree with the original post obviously that a strong, dominant centre half along side Wilmot would make a massive difference. It will be interesting to see how McNally pans out. We really need him to step up He had an old fashioned centre back next to him in Kyle McFadzean which helps for me

Makes a bad mistake every two:three games and shouldn’t be starting more than 15 games for a side that want to do well in this league. He’s part of this terrible defence you know. Stop making excuses. I’m not making excuses but I’m disputing your statement that he’s absolutely gash. I can accept your opinion that he’s a bench player, shouldn’t be starting more than 15 games.

Someone on here was mocking Duffy before the Norwich game but he's exactly the type of player we need. Stick your head on every ball in the box rather than a half hearted challenge from a lofted 35 yards free kick ...again.

Late in the game when Mcnally was taken out of position and their striker ran him like he wasn't there, I just couldn't believe how rubbish he is. Why did we gamble the season on these two jokers, rose and mcnally. They're both wank, absolutely fucking gutless pair of idiots McNally is a good player but had a poor game, Rose I’m not convinced is any better than back up. The main issue with the set pieces is there’s no one taking charge to win that first header, Wilmot and McNally you would think could both do it but we’re losing the first header near enough every single time a corner or free kick is put into the box.

That’s a bit gash though right? No that’s a good squad player in my book. Someone who is absolutely gash is last choice and needs getting rid of pronto. See current form Dwight Gayle. I.e Shouldn’t be starting any games. By your reckoning everyone in the squad who isn’t a regular first team player is obviously absolutely gash. I think Wilmot would do very well with a quality leader next to him. For example in the games where he played along Tuanzebe last season.

So they are not shit CBs then, it's down to a shit manager. Make your mind up. They’re all shit. McNally was supposed to be one of the most dominant CBs in the division last season yet he looks like a rabbit in the headlights here. The expectations at Stoke are completely different to those at Coventry because of our recent history and I think he's one of several who can't handle the pressure. I think there is a very good player in there but he wasn't what we needed. We needed someone like Jake Cooper from Millwall who's done it over a long period of time at this level. The plan can't have been to go into the season with three senior CBs one of whom (Rose) was surely only intended to be a squad player. Something went badly wrong. I think we became a little obsessed with getting value for money and were reluctant to pay over our valuations. It looks like it's going to come back to bite us on the arse.

It’s ironic that Alex Neil’s downfall will be his complete failure to build a solid defence, but I agree that’s where we’re at.

He's exceptional at this level.

Players do feel pressure they're human beings and our six seasons of under achievement mean we need strong characters as much if not more than just good players. The pressure is everywhere from social media with new players being written off after two or three mediocre games. To think they don't read it and that it has no effect is naive in the extreme. It's no coincidence that players leave here and do well and good players come here (and managers for that matter) and turn to shit.

Rose was poor tonight.
They kept giving him so much time on the ball as they knew he’d just give it away.
Thought Wilmot did well. McNally didn’t really notice he was playing.
