I think the Sentinal article about SS holding a staff and players meeting explains what he, at least believes SJW has been brought in to do. I'd say ,reading between the lines, what most of us think. Extra pair of eyes and ears SS probably feels he can trust, an ex-player with gravitas and cares abouthe Club and somebody who will link the Club back to the fans a bit. He's interim media, bouncer, spy and confidante ! How's that for a job description for him?!

Remarkably people lose their jobs apart from one person every single time, stunned that folk can’t see the real problem Would the real problem be in your opinion the family who have invested 100`s of million pounds into the club?

You can bet, if we win today someone will say it was down to the Martin sacking and Walter's influence 😉👍👍

Yes. The amount of money invested by the family isn’t in question at all. It’s greatly appreciated. What is in question and definitely is the problem is the utter & complete mismanagement by said family member who needs to employ professionals to run the club….competent able professionals…that would save the family a fortune for a start rather than wasting 100’s of millions.

I read it on Sky Sports. Sorry no more inside information than most 😁 I think your previous post may have been read as Moyes has been offered a contract by Stoke Apologies 👍

Thank fuck he's gone. It was NEVER going to work with Ste managing the team. I won't say any more on this but to say I'm relieved is an understatement. No hiding place for him now. Continue in the vein of team selections and performances he’s produced since Sunderland and he won’t have a job come the summer. Fingers crossed we are all saying “it must have been tricky Ricky’s fault all along”. How long has he got left fishlovesoatcakes? Are we/he in this for the long haul come what may or is the writing on the wall?

Good to see SJW doing this.
Communication is key, communication of standards and the feeling that everyone is pulling in the same direction is something that has been clearly lacking, and there needs to be commitment to those standards, and if a player doesn't show the right attitude and application he should know what to expect

He has stayed busy since then and built a wide-ranging CV at the same time as ticking off coaching badges and studying for a masters in sports directorship, invited in to study clubs including Arsenal as part of his development.
Isn't the masters in sports directorship the same thing MON has done?

Want SS to turn it around but think SJW is potentially a future manager or in some capacity.

Wonder if SJW could be the interim manager until the end of the season? He could be the double interim, but there's really no point in getting in someone who's not even a manager. If SS left on his own accord, then SJW could be caretaker until a real manager was appointed, preferably the day after. But I don't see that happening. If the board sacked the manager, they MUST hace an instant replacement lined up. A period of 10 days or so would just be a waste of time and could add to our problems. Asking the players to adapt to yet another system of playing could be suicidal. So I would much prefer we stayed with SS.

"Jonathan Walters pulled all the players into a meeting at Clayton Wood this morning addressing the responsibility of wearing the badge & the importance of working together to avoid relegation in what is a pivotal next 2 months. He'll hold a second meeting with all the staff as the club plan ahead for the next 12 games." Source -- Pete Smith --
My Opinion - Seems like its getting real now with all these faces turning at us, almost feels different this time, like i can sense relegation. Never felt like this under MON, does now though.

Wouldn't it be nice to stumble on a Schumacher and Walters dream team. They are both tasked with rescuing a mess made by Jon Coates.
If we get a reaction from the players after Walters has his chat then that's great, getting more out of the people around him was his thing.
We could do with the loudest rendition of Super Jon before we play Middleborough so the players have a little experience of what it's like to be loved by our fans, it might even give them a buzz.

Some sources mentioned that tricky was picking the team and SS was just supposed to coach - be interesting to see the next team if SJW has picked it.
What a shambles of a club

I've been thinking SJW will be the wise old head upstairs who has 'kid' Schumachers back but in fact there is only 1 year between them.
So basically they will be brothers in arms.

Super Johnnie is a Liverpudlian, no? And Irish by nature ... and Irish by family? West Dublin, East liverpool. There's a power there. And stamina. And desire. and fight. And perseverance.
We will survive with him and SS.
Fire up the souls. It will happen.

There is no evidence in the history of the Coates' reign that they have done anything like this before. Why start now?
