Feels a little naive on my part, but me too. A player from an amazing era at our club. Whatever you think of Tony Pulis, what he built here was very, very special. And unbelievable group of players assembled who gave absolutely everything for our club and seemingly still have a huge amount of love for us, despite not originating here. Literally, the opposite of everything we have been over the ladt 6 years or so. A result on Saturday would be epic, but you just know we haven't got the bottlw for it. |

This. We do not need a DOF. All successful modern football teams have Directors of Football in place though. They're central to the overall strategic planning and oversee a club's football philosophy, culture, recruitment, and development across all levels. It's pretty much proven consensus it's the right model for today's game. Also it's not like we were any better before we had one, we were absolutely wank for years before that and had no overall general vision or plan, as evidenced by ripping up and starting again every time we got a new manager - which is what got us in this mess in the first place If every DofF was sacked this afternoon, there would be no decline in any of the clubs who currently have one. |

I loved Walters’ as a player (after Pulis left). However, this is a ridiculous appointment. Bringing in someone with limited experience to run a club on fire, oversee a manager who is very inexperienced and look after one of the worst Chairman in the league. You're such a doommonger! It's a fantastic appointment of a man who instantly commands respect and will do his utmost for the club. I will admit to some surprise myself, as Jon didn't do much during his coaching spell at the club, but I'll put that aside and support him. |

SJW will have zero power, purely a vibes appointment. Considering we're a a shit show though, I'm not against it. Yeah I agree with that but....... surely "the management" has been pondering over this for a while and done some homework and succession planning (yeah I'm joking). One would have thought they had "names" filed under replacement DOF. "Purely for the fans" appointment and it will go down well in most quarters, will it help the shitshow we are in, probably not. Seems a face saving/diversion tactic exercise to be honest but what do I know and even if I did, I doubt anyone could fathom out why and how we are doing things. |

It’s interim Anyone with the requisite amount of experience is already likely employed. Clearly big issues relating to Ricky that needed addressing. He has gone. The only way we get clear of the relegation zone is by sticking together. Walters will unite the fans for a start. 3 wins and a draw should see us right. |
