Ramsey played over 30 games for England and took Ipswich town from the third division south to champions of England. Bobby Robson was a classy England international and fantastic Ipswich town manager ( he won the uefa cup with Ipswich town! Bringing through players like Paul mariner, Kevin beattie , Mick mills and Terry butcher . Then going on to prove himself a class act , at clubs like PSV , Barcelona. He is rated by everyone in the game as one of the greatest managers ever . I hope Southgate proves the doubters ( me included!) Wrong. I would love him to guide England to winning the euros or the world cup. But right now, today, he is not as highly rated as Ramsey or Bobby Robson. Because he doesn't deserve to be. Robson failed to qualify for Euro 84 (OK it was harder then) Euro 88 we lost all 3 games despite on paper having an excellent side, with a fit Bryan Robson too 'in the name of God go' was the headline Southgate is the best since Ramsey, that's fact not opinion Haven't you just picked the tournaments that suit your argument there? Missed a couple of World Cups. One knocked out by being cheated and another on penalties to a brilliant team. I'm not into battering Southgate but the guy couldn't have hand picked better tournament draws. He also has a better squad of players than Robson ever had.

There is no way no one can convince me you aren’t chatting shit for attention after saying that. As if I needed confirmation, but this is definitely it. I couldn’t give a shit what you think tbh. It's a good job you don't with all the nonsense you come out with.

It doesn't mean that he cant achieve more as an England manager though. The guy who managed the last World Cup winners had never managed a club side in his life, nor won anything previously. " Ramsey retired from playing aged 35 to become the manager of Ipswich Town, then in the third tier of English football. Ipswich rose through the divisions over the next six years, winning the Third Division South in 1956–57 and the Second Division in 1960–61. In the 1961–62 season, Ipswich's first-ever campaign in the top division, Ramsey's team defied expectations to become champions of England." But as you say, apart from taking Ipswich town, from the third division south to champions of England, what did Ramsey actually do in club football? Ramsey was offered the England job a year after taking Ipswich from the third division south to champions of England. I was talking about the guy who won the last World Cup, i.e. with Argentina in 2022. A bit of crossed wires there I think.

Absolutely! Its quite honestly unbelievable isn't it. Real should take note. I'd love madrid or someone come in for foden. There's a real tasteful air Real having Bellingham with his capability & attitude. Bonus he's English of course but if Foden would somehow join, I would take proud note of our lads abroad part of such prestige.

Great few days in Poland before heading onto Glasgow for an a total masterclass of a first half domination.
How do you handle Foden, Rashford, Kane and Bellingham? The answer is you can't.

??? Is this the latest attempt at 'Harry Kane is crap'. Your judgement of footballers is honestly worse than anyone else's on the internet. I don’t think he’s crap. I think he makes the teams he plays in worse as he tries to do much and is the focus of them too much. With no end results. Didn't we recently see him play a 'worldy' of a pass from midfield to our full back, who then scored? You only see what you want to see. You must be very lonely, looking for attention all the time.

Our national anthem is shite! No passion Sang out of time Too slow.
Jealous of the Scots anthem, and the Welsh too, proper passion, gets the hairs standing up. gets the atmosphere going! ours makes me want a kip!
Cant think of another nation with an anthem as uninspiring as ours.

It needs to be- dare I say it- more inclusive.

What the heck do you want from Kane, in a team that includes Bellingham, Rashford, Foden... Kane could help England win the Euros next year, no question.

I agree, the current anthem just doesn’t sit right for a sports team. It doesn’t feel right singing an anthem about one person! Ok they are our ruler but we need an anthem that is far more inclusive for a sports team and their millions of supporters around the country. I’d be 100% behind a change to Land of Hope and Glory or I vow to thee my country. GSTK as many have pointed out just doesn’t get you going like many other nations anthems seem to.
PS please don’t direct me to the scraggly haired man being blown away during euro96, it’s one example in about 200 games I’ve witnessed.

For sure. I’m not disputing Kane’s striking prowess. Im just saying the argument that he got 30 goals in a Spurs team (basically saying he would score the same in Man City’s) isn’t a foregone conclusion. Further more actually massively unlikely. He doesn’t have the pace Haaland has to consistently score, the hunger, the running and physical power. There is a reason that Haaland has scored a goal a game in every team he’s played in (at 23 years old!) Kane plays deep and gets involved in the game, also his 30 goal haul, albeit massively impressive, is the best return he has ever done. He’s also 30 and in his absolute prime. Haaland has had a few better seasons goal scoring wise than Kane ever has, or will. I can see some teams preferring a Kane, as he is all round the better footballer. I just disagree with the argument he would score as many in a Man City team. You genuinely don't believe that Kane who scored 30 goals in an absolutely dogshit football team couldn't score an extra 6 goals playing for the best team in the world? Not to mention, the huge amount of extra assists he would have provided over Haaland. Kane would have been an utter sensation at Citeh (that's why Pep wanted him so bad), it's just a shame that Levy's arrogance, robbed both the player and the world of that opportunity to see. Made it clear I was talking about goals only. Kane is unreal and is the better footballer overall. Read my post.

Without getting into a petty keyboard argument I think that you need to find out what a kings role in a monarchy is. He is very much the Ruler and head of state of the United Kingdom. Some people don’t like it and now have the internet as a platform to shout to the high heavens about their personal wants and needs, but let’s not try to wipe out facts. See any dictionary, encyclopaedia etc for examples: King. The male ruler of an independent state, especially one who inherits the position by right of birth.

They do not oppose Parliament's wishes though they sometimes get dispensations where those laws affect them, which is totally wrong.

In a way you are both right. In practice the monarch's authority is nominal - the power of the sovereign is supposed to reside in Parliament but it is the monarch who appoints the government and the monarch has the power (in theory at least) to remove it. The problem is that this is all a matter of convention - there is nothing to prevent the monarch from exercising those powers. For me there are two issues: 1 We need a written constitution that defines the role of Parliament and the Head of State. 2 We need an elected Head of State - having an unelected Head of State who got there by birthright is just embarrassing. Oh and England needs its own national anthem - the current one is a dirge and it's wrong that it doubles up as the UK anthem. Jerusalem for me.

Yep they could but as I said it would be the end of the monarchy, it would not be tolerated now. It does have precedent though, Gough Whitlam the Australian PM who was dismissed by the Governor General in the 1970's. Totally agree with you points 1 to 3, far overdue.
