He has been backed, though? Barely any stick from the stands last season despite us being terrible at home. He’s then been able to bring in a raft of players and the fans met that with optimism. Only during a thumping at home to Hull at the end of September did that change. After 11 games we’re no closer to knowing how he wants to set them up or what sort of identity the group will have. How much more “backing” do you want? It’s time for him to earn his corn. He’s got three games, tops. I don’t care about all that JUST BACK HIM

I mean, AN got away last year with giving us the worst home record in two decades and winning one of his last ten games. Equally this season, despite sitting on the edge of the relegation and performing well below par, the crowd have been pretty supportive. I would say that the supporters have demonstrated extraordinary patience and backing so far bearing in mind how little AN has delivered. At some point he needs to produce something.

At what point can we not "just back him"? Just asking out of interest. When we are in the relegation zone? When we have lost 52% of games over the last 12 months? When he's backed and still can't produce?

Diversion tactics. You know you want to back him. All the way. Absolute headcase mate, go lock yourself in a dark room! Jesus mate thanks. You know, you’re right. I went through a spell of positivity on the Oatcake. I’ll get myself sorted. Right, Anyway, phew, yes he’s shite. Get rid of him now. I don’t know how much time he needs. Let’s replace a manager who has just brought a load of new faces during close season in having rid ourselves of ‘deadwood’ hangers on and bring in yet another new manager with another set of principles who doesn’t consider this group of players as being his own choice and limp along again. Give him a proper chance to gel a team together is my message. Lots of new players lots of gelling. It all takes time. We have tried the hire and fire - it doesn’t work. We build things up is my view. Wait for the injuries to return. Give him a good chance. Let’s buck the trend. My view. That’s it.

Any other input than encouraging others to join you on your crusade of blindly supporting regimes that have yet to show any real signs that they’ll ever work save for 5 games in 14 months? Anything at all?

Don't know who those people are Maybe they're sick of the results , sick of losing, sick of excuses and just want what's best for the club and want to see their team doing well, not languishing near the foot of the table . These the same people that wanted rid of the last manager? And the one before that, and the one before that? How's that working out? No. I didn't want rid of MON to answer your question as he genuinely did have an injury crisis but don't think he'd have taken us up either . Was steady and sorted the Jones mess out and we should have replaced him with better

Could have been a compromise between those who crave a dour old British manager with a long out of date idea of football and those who crave a more progressive approach but at the moment is just falling between two stools and pleasing no one much.

John seems to have learned everything he knows about running a football club from his Dad. There is definitely a strange fascination with the dour in Stoke.

One thing they obviously do is seriously care about the club unlike so many owners we see who lose interest as soon as they realise that the Prem isn't happening overnight but yep, we need to stop employing this same clone of a manager and maybe hoping another one can do a Pulis. Even if Neil was to somehow take us up you could almost guarantee he wouldn't hack a season with us in the Prem and would be another huge step backwards and back to the drawing board. Was hoping with us expanding our player net, we'd do the same with a manager but looks like the same old trail for the foreseeable future and months of poor results, feeble excuses and talking a great game.
